^Jesus!
Another baked prawn fest for lunch today, lashings of garlic and butter, and some baked potato on the side.
^Yes that was a lunch, we eat lamb probably once every 7 to 10 days for lunch, dinner, or even breakfast.
^ Wow... those peas look perfect!
What kind of pie?
Yeah, the pie definitely looks the better choice there.
^ Looking at the dark gravy I'm guessing it was a steak pie... probably imported steak as it's HW...
The pie was chicken and ham, very nice too
Oi! Eyes off my Hollands 5p meat & potato pie.
Your a pork pie dog..
Making him snarl?
You missed painting that sidetable battleship grey
Quiet times up north atm so plenty of time to make lunch. Today it was diced smoked breast chicken and pasta in a herb and cheese sauce (commercial) plus a ton of cajun spice, mushrooms, roughly chopped garlic and onion. Last minute decided to put some vintage cheese on it before eating. Was quite good, creamy with a touch of heat. Enough leftovers for two more meals.
Something's going on.
The wife left early this morning for a family day at the temple... an anniversary.
The strange thing is she left me some lunch... squid soup and very nice it was too.
Crinkle cut carrots as well, no less. I'll await developments with interest.
Nice one Mendip, I've got a squid in the fridge that's starting to smell. Cost 14p yesterday and I've been scratching my head what to do with it.
If it's starting to smell and was only 14p I'd be tempted to boil it up for the dog.
^ & ^^ does no one remember the last time Chitty obtained a reduced price cephalopod from the supermarket and applied it to a pan, i can still see it if i close my eyes.
I'll let the pictures tell the story..
0/10
It was fvcking diabolical by my standards, never again.
Went in the bin.
A deliciously sloppy BLT.
It make take a cona.... conni.... conne.... expert to spot the missing ingredient.
One thing I'm learning about the UK from Chitty's meals, is that old, out of date veg & subpar cuts of meat are very, very cheap.
Bread and butter?
The wife has a friend who's started up a beef noodle soup stall... so guess what I'm getting every day now. I don't think it's the same girl who was fobbing off five day old pork leather as chicken satay but these noodles aren't great... stingy on the meat.
I of course said they're nice, thus sealing my fate until this stall fails and closes.
^ They look fine to me.
I had a lot worse for lunch today
Have had some cans of beans in the pantry since we moved in two years ago and was considering throwing them out. Anyway happened across a simple bean stew from Spain on YT last night and while I didn't use that recipe it was the inspiration to make something similar for lunch today. In scouting around I also found some tinned tomato pieces, a tomato sauce bottle in need of using up and from the refrigerator ten cloves of garlic, an Aussie carrot and Makro purchased smoked chicken breasts. Raided the spice rack for Cajun, ground pepper, ground cumin seed and salt. I'm into big flavours but had to accept I may have been considerably heavy handed on the ground pepper. At the last moment added a lonely bread roll and cheese slice to the plate for a mop up. Was okay...6, maybe 7 out of 10.
