Yeah, yeah, of course you do ...

Meanwhile, I'd rather have the ones from 1) Brittany, France or 2) Galicia, Spain. The best two regions I know for mussels and having them properly cooked.

I wouldn't say you've had the best mussels until you've been to La Lycorne, Dinan in Brittany. A lovely restaurant with an excellent variety of sauces and friendly service. I can't make the journey there every year any longer, but it was one of those must do events in the winter season months...November being my favorite time for mussels as well as oysters, which requires a small trip to the coastal town of Cancale. A place you have to visit before stating you've had the best oysters in the world.

^ Have you ever tried to tame a freaking mussel?

Come to think of it, I wonder if Snubby has pet mussels in his basement...

Took my Pops out for his 88th birthday.

Started with Crab cake, Calamari and half dozen Oysters.

Pops had a nice bowl of Cioppino

Wife had seared Chilean Sea Bass

I chowed down a Fresh local Lobster tail with a Henhouse IPA.

We all left with a food coma. Wife and Dad slept in the car back home.

    That looks fantástico, JP.

A lovely family meal to celebrate another year ticked off for the old man.

What a pleasant change it must have been for a table of yanks not to be eating dry, burnt meat too.

Winner winner, not a burnt dinner.

I was in an Indonesian on my recent trip to Amsterdam.

    Sorry, Chitty's recent trip.

I actually prefer Indonesian to Malaysian although both are similar.

Yes. But I managed to finagle a 10 day supported trip (flight, accommodation, per diem) for an afternoons work.

    Just sometimes life is good.
