Have been doing a bit of travelling in the Low Countries. We had some lovely, hearty lunches while we were there.
How many can you name?
Dutch beef stew with chips (and the obligatory mayonnaise on the side for dipping the chips that haven't been soaked by the stew).
I couldn't get enough of this pea and ham soup.
Mussels in a fairly spicy broth (reminded me of Korea- very tasty and preferable to mariniere IMHO). And the mussels were MASSIVE!
The American mind really cannot comprehend moisture and flavour on the same plate like we Europeans can.
