Obsessing about avoiding cards is fair enough if you are pursuing a short term ketosis weight loss approach.

But thinking long term you should be aiming ultimately for a more balanced diet.

I think you are not doing your body much good if you are forcing it into ketosis on a semi-permanent basis.

Longevity as well as levity is the ultimate goal in a healthy lifestyle.

The pumpkin brushed with EVOO then spinkled with thyme, S&P stole the show.

Which doesn't say much for the Halal Ribeye pulled out from the freezer.

    Not really.

Someone could eat nothing but carbs.

If the calories going out are more than the calories going in, they'll be losing weight.

    Not very healthily, of course.

Keeping track of their calories would be far, far, more beneficial.

If the calories coming in are all coming in on carbs then that better be a hell of an active person.
Here's an interesting if somewhat simplistic look at counting calories Vs counting carb's.

    That's some calories/carbs burned.
I burn around 1200 calories on a ride (30-60 km) or 800 on a run.(5-8 km) Nowhere near what you do and irregular in this heat. Trying to take a leaf out of your book and get up earlier to beat the heat but I'm not very good at it.

Losing weight is very fucking simple indeed - as has already been established, the wheel need not be reinvented here. It's calories in vs calories out. Get My Fitness Pal on you phone, input what goes in your gob, conservatively input the exercise you've done (to burn off 800 calories takes and hour of riding hard on the rivet), and make sure the final figure coincides with your daily target.

Carbs, fats, proteins are totally irrelevant to weight loss, as long as you're living within the target calories. Macronutrients only really need to be considered if you're fuelling your body for specific physical activity.

Remember though the Fitbit records all calories burned. Anything I do is logged in. Not just going out twice a early am and pm when its cooler.

So on average how many calories would you burn a day?

Cujo my wristband says 3000+ a day. I am inclined to believe it as I just have to eat more to maintain the weight I am at now.

I'm actually doing a few weeks of Keto right now, the reason being I have a project to do shortly in a country where the food is pretty much carb-less - unless you enjoy plain white rice 3 times a day - which I don't eat any fucking times ever. So this is a good time to wean the body off things like breads, potatoes, milk, etc, because they won't be readily available. I've done Keto before, it's very easy after the first few days after which time I lose weight rapidly (like 1.5 to 2kg per week normally) and feel a lot less tired which is handy when sleep can sometimes be a luxury at work.

Anyways here's some of my healthy-ish main meal today for lunch/dinner, there was steamed broccoli and cauli too.

Yes, keto can be healthy, lots of leafy greens, cauliflower, broccoli, lean meats, cheese, avocado.
An excellent way to lose weight. (Worked for me)

Leg of lamb steak, kale, Asparagus, champignon mushrooms and pumpkin with a little bisto and a lot of Kiwi aftershave. That after 2 hours of frittering between a mixed sauna, steam room and ice cold pool full of pole dancers, which HW will know about

^ ...erm...a bit on the bitter side, although cooking it will mellow it out somewhat.
