^ My kitchen stayed cool. That was nice. The wife said in the big oven the same pizza takes 25 - 30 minutes.
The M-I-L also "borrowed" $60 from me and she's moving out of town. You reckon I just paid $60 for an oven?

That's good, with ovens you can waste loads of power heating empty space when doing say just a pizza or other smallish snack.
Lasagne
Bei Otto
Polished it off five minutes ago.
Lovely late afternoon here.
Rainstorm 45 minutes ago has taken the humidity out.
Looks nice, what's the Milk for?
^^That does look good Cy. I'm guessing the "milk" is to dress the salad.
Did it last week and didn't quite time it right.
The top was a bit scorched.
The Otto places obvious limitations on the size of the dish you can use, so the approach with the pasta is a bit 'crazy paving'.
My attitude to getting this piece of equipment was very much like the op's.
I was dubious about how effective it would be, and my wife went ahead and bought it.
It's proven itself to be a much more useful piece of kit than I'd expected.
You just have to work within its obvious limitations.
For doing chicken wings in that freebie oven I pictured up above, suggestions for function setting appreciated. Convection, bake or broil? Didn't get a book with it and can't locate that model online.
TIA.

Thank ya sir...I'll explore that link further when I get back on my pc.
Not sure how long M-I-L had it, so it may be a discontinued model.
Ok...did a test run in the convection/toaster oven with 6 wings and some potatoes. Gave the wings a roll in some olive oil, salt and a dusting of corn starch. Potatoes had oil, oregano, salt, garlic pepper seasoning, lemon pepper seasoning and also a dusting of corn starch. All of that before going in. Tried all of the settings while they were cooking, convection, toast, bake and broil. Started out on 400F and then ended up cranking it all the way up. Still took longer than I thought it would. I had the wings in by themselves first, then added the potatoes in the bottom tray after the wings were close to being done. Then once the wings were done I used the pizza pan that came with it and put some of the potatoes in it and set it on the top rack were the wings were. That speeded up the tater cooking process.
That corn starch really helped crisp up the wings and taters. Here's those done.
Made up some homemade sauce to toss the wings in when they were done cooking. That was made up of Huy Fong garlic chili sauce(heaping tablespoon), soy sauce, sorghum molasses, garlic hoisin sauce and then sesame seeds sprinkled on top. Might have been something else in it, but damned if I can remember what now. Here's the wings.
One grandson had left and I thought he was going to a friends for the weekend. But he showed up about time to eat so we each had only two wings apiece. The boss is at work. I had only bought a pkg of 6 to do a test run. So here's my plate. Plenty of taters so it was enough.
Was disappointed in the length of time spent cooking...but...At least the kitchen didn't get as hot as when using the big oven.
^I guess should have taken a pic of the wings before saucing them...
You put some good stuff up SKin on all of the threads. Green owed.
How was the taste?
I'd have put the chicken in later, after the spuds, but you can never tell with these shitty little ovens. I can do a reasonably good tray of roast tatties in there, but the minute I add another tray of food (chicken, whatever) it's a guessing game.
Nice one Skinny. A masterclass.
Cyrille's lasagne looks pretty good too
