I believe it's country specific, but probably yes for most. I'm not sure about Australia, if you're looking to move up in the world. :-)

I can assure you that you don't need a shit diet to get gout.

I had a pizza delivery for lunch yesterday.

And a Chinese takeaway for supper.

    And my toe's just fine!

Every fucker seems to be afflicted differently
For me it's hard to say what kicks it off ? For eg I'm 10 cans I. And MY big toe is fine but that could change while I'm in the fartsack and that fucker will start throbbing like fuk about 3.00 am then it's time to throw down 2 colchicines. Repeat at 7.00 am then 1 every hour until about 12 ish that usually nips it in the bud. My pain tolerance pretty high so only an ibuprofen or 2. Sorted. Back on the swally's. Ye can't keep a good man down.

I eliminated chicken from my diet and never got gout again.

Until I got brave and ate chicken.

Drinking as much water as you physically can will help flush it out quicker.

Can you imagine a life without chicken?

I take Montgomery Cherry capsules every day, maybe that helps.

    Never heard of them before.
A quick Google gives the interesting benefits.

I've been on 1000mg Omega3 fish oil capsules for two years now and drink gallons plus loads of exercise with no gout issues.

I can imagine a life without chicken but not one without beer. Fair enough it's self inflicted.

I've actually got something similar on the way.

Feels loads better today but walking long* distances hurts still. Need to get better as I've got a big footy tournament in June.

Naturally, my Mrs used to give me grief about it being from drinking.

However, she was unable to explain how I got it after 3.5 weeks offshore.

    I can, fried chicken.

    ------------

About a month ago I ordered a House Special Curry from the Chinese and forgot it would have chicken in it.

Gout followed and I did not have any medication, which is prescription only here.

The NHS said they would need to book me in for a blood test in 2 weeks time to determine that it was gout. Told them by that time it would be gone and so would I be.

I tried to explain that I don't need meds for gout, that's too late, I need meds to prevent gout in the situation I can feel it coming on.

    No dice.

So I went private, got a prescription same day and submitted a blood test. The blood test came back normal for uric acid for the first time in about 10 years.

No wonder really, for about a week prior I had been living on yoghurt, fresh berries, cherry smoothies and enough water to fill the Duthie Park duck pond.

Proof that that shit really works.

Colchicine on hand for prevention at the slightest twitch, for sure, but I often eat berries with yoghurt for breakfast, take my cherry capsules (£15 for over 3 months worth) drink plenty water and stay the fcuk away from anything that clucks.

    Eggs are safe.

    Anything tart cherry really.

I chose mine because it came with 200 capsules which will probably last me 4 months tbh.

Actual cherries are not in season at the moment.

I am supposed to take allapurinol daily but it's a pain in the arse to remember to do. The cherry capsules are a good idea I need to get online and order some and try to remember to take them. Fresh cherries would be great but expensive
