I believe it's country specific, but probably yes for most. I'm not sure about Australia, if you're looking to move up in the world. :-)

Every fucker seems to be afflicted differently
For me it's hard to say what kicks it off ? For eg I'm 10 cans I. And MY big toe is fine but that could change while I'm in the fartsack and that fucker will start throbbing like fuk about 3.00 am then it's time to throw down 2 colchicines. Repeat at 7.00 am then 1 every hour until about 12 ish that usually nips it in the bud. My pain tolerance pretty high so only an ibuprofen or 2. Sorted. Back on the swally's. Ye can't keep a good man down.
I sure miss these things you can get over the counter in Lao. I will bring an industrial sized box back next trip.Attachment 124579
I eliminated chicken from my diet and never got gout again.
Until I got brave and ate chicken.
Drinking as much water as you physically can will help flush it out quicker.
Can you imagine a life without chicken?
I take Montgomery Cherry capsules every day, maybe that helps.

Never heard of them before.
A quick Google gives the interesting benefits.
I've been on 1000mg Omega3 fish oil capsules for two years now and drink gallons plus loads of exercise with no gout issues.
I can imagine a life without chicken but not one without beer. Fair enough it's self inflicted.
Naturally, my Mrs used to give me grief about it being from drinking.
However, she was unable to explain how I got it after 3.5 weeks offshore.
I can, fried chicken.
------------
About a month ago I ordered a House Special Curry from the Chinese and forgot it would have chicken in it.
Gout followed and I did not have any medication, which is prescription only here.
The NHS said they would need to book me in for a blood test in 2 weeks time to determine that it was gout. Told them by that time it would be gone and so would I be.
I tried to explain that I don't need meds for gout, that's too late, I need meds to prevent gout in the situation I can feel it coming on.
No dice.
So I went private, got a prescription same day and submitted a blood test. The blood test came back normal for uric acid for the first time in about 10 years.
No wonder really, for about a week prior I had been living on yoghurt, fresh berries, cherry smoothies and enough water to fill the Duthie Park duck pond.
Proof that that shit really works.
Colchicine on hand for prevention at the slightest twitch, for sure, but I often eat berries with yoghurt for breakfast, take my cherry capsules (£15 for over 3 months worth) drink plenty water and stay the fcuk away from anything that clucks.
Eggs are safe.
I am supposed to take allapurinol daily but it's a pain in the arse to remember to do. The cherry capsules are a good idea I need to get online and order some and try to remember to take them. Fresh cherries would be great but expensive
I spent a week picking cherries in Australia 30 years ago and overdosed on them:)
I picked them in Canada. In the Okanawa, vernon, coloundra
etc great place. Kept me in Molson.
Is that cherrypopping twixt Okinawa and the lovely Okanagan area of Brutish Climburr?
I reckon your Dr would suggest refrain for ale and that will refrain the pain.
My dad use do drink like a fish , through his mouth, lost a lung in Burma capmpaign but lived to 77 with gout
Utter filth, not recommended for a good night's sleep before bed..

:puke:
I never knew gout was a thing outside of Victorian novels! Is it easy to get? Sounds like something you genteelly curate over time.
No. it's not easy to get. Takes years of alcohol abuse and fine dining usually the stuff you love like red wine, port, seafood. Red meat in excess..sometimes it's mostly self inflicted. But working in extreme heat and not staying hydrated can bring on an attack. The worst attack I've ever had was in Sudan, where I hadn't seen a beer for a couple of months
Mandy mentioned it because armstrong has it, didn't he?
So that blows the 'fine dining' thing out of the water. :D
Shit diet is the main cause these days, and a tendency not to drink enough water or get enough exercise.
Like your belief that styrofoam cups are all the rage in Thailand, your material here is at least 35 years out of date.
Port?
Maybe in a box on a traffic island in Perth, but not in the developed world.
