Morphing into the usual intense and ridiculous cultural comparisons competition - to be expected.

Sandwiches made from leftover spaghetti were common in the north of the US.

I like mustard mustard on my hashbrowns vice ketchup, I might give that a try on a sandwich.

Is pita bread filled with cold cuts and slaw considered a sandwich?

Nothing wrong with any of that. Tinned spaghetti sandwiches, baked bean sandwiches, egg sandwiches....all good sammies.
    But not manwiches.

Well no. Why? Because I realise it is hard for you to comprehend (or spell.... check AAA) anything but this is a Manwich thread, which in itself suggests classless tasteless oik (hence why snubb is so desperate to be part of it, posting his sub rolls and other stolen pictures from his mums basement). If you are going to go all out Manwich, then the full roast it is. But why would that mean I would eat it? Secondly, are you saying a full roast beef dinner is classless, tasteless, oikish? Because that's fucking fighting talk!

If you say so. But what has that got to do with this OP, or the Food Forum in General?

I've been called a few things in my lifetime, but a bullshitter and a tin foil hat wearer ... never.
That says more about you then it does about me.

Viet Nam may well have some of the best sandwiches in the world. Bahn Mi, why? The killer French rolls.

Lemon grass pork, most of the time its homemade pate instead of mayo and the such.

    Grilled sausages as well.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. It's a real pity that Thailand wasn't colonized by the Frogs.

Whoah! Back the truck up. A full roast dinner, yorkshire puds and all, is certainly not classless oik!!! Who on earth even slightly implied that?
    But not in a sarny.

What's the point of constructing or discussing what was constructed if you don't want to eat it?

    Fair comment.

It's just a casual observance, but some of the Cambodian food I've eaten on various visa runs were originally Thai based dishes
but given a French twist .. for the better.

Yes. Someone with a basic element of class would not feel the need to assert his masculinity with a Manwich.

You've seen Cambodia, right? FFS no, it would not be better. Go to a frog bakery and buy a baguette.

Not to be pedantic David, but anything considered to be "Thai-based" has it's origins from outside the modern borders.
There's much more of a Kamen [and Lao and everyone else] influence regarding everything that is suspected Thai.

All this.......long, long, long before the arrival of the blue-eyed devils.

Comparing French influence in Vietnam [their original baby] as to Cambodia and Laos cannot be done.

Nothing wrong with a pie sandwich!

Meat and potato pie between two buttered slices and some red sauce.

    Delish

BTW that Cambodian bread is sickly sweet and full of sugar.

Looks nice but sadly tastes shit.

So manly it even looks like a cock*

*Cue the ARFC losing their collective shit over that comment.
