Could survive very easily but wouldn't want to. Enjoy cakes and other sweets too much. Hit the gym 4-5 times I week and hike on Sundays. I'd like to think that that works off any negative stuff that the daily chocy causes.

I enjoy sweet things but I am making an effort to reduce my sugar intake. I could probably live without it but I don't intend to cut it out completely.

First you get the sugar, then you get the power then you get the women.

Same same as Neverna. I have a sweet tooth, so it is a struggle. I don't have it in the house at all. I don't add it to tea, but I like chocolate. I've been eating dried fruit as snacks, but that has a lot of added sugar. Hard sometimes to get away from it.

Cut out sugar in my tea or coffee years ago. Now, I find sweetness to be a bit sickly. I will occassionaly have a small dessert or choccy.
If there was a worldwide sugar shortage I'd have no concerns at all.

I'm going to try and have a sugar free diet, as I've noticed when I'm in Thailand My diet is Shit, as the food is inferior, and where we live there is a real lack of selection of produce, drink beer here and really don't feel healthy, and won't eat Issan food, though eat Thai food which as we all know has a lot of sugar in it.

When I'm in the UK I have a healthy lifestyle, I'd say my only real weakness is coffee with brown sugar, which I drink a lot of, don't drink alcohol and prefer salads and fruits, I do occasionally have a sugar feast. though generally feel a lot more healthy and feel a lot better.

I've done a no sugar diet before for six months. You will feel absolutely amazing! It is very hard to find food as you say, without sugar in Thailand, but cook yourself and you can avoid it.
Yes, I have been almost sugar free since Jan 1st, and I feel amazing! When you are sick like I was for two months with Pneumonia, you can't go back to eating too shitty as it drags your immune system down.

Sugar is seriously one of the worst things for you as it has zero nutrients and can cause problems.
Read this if you have a chance.

Sugar is evil... (bit of an over-dramatization) but pretty accurate... much worse than fat (except perhaps trans fat, or za).

Best thing you can do for your health, is reduce sugar consumption (and consumption of said bacteria)...

When you start looking out for sugar in foods, finding proessed foods without it in one form or another is very tough. Fresh fruit, veg and meat all the way and that way you can control what you eat.

I personally don't eat much sweet stuff, other than the occasional choc or biscuit. The real mother-lode of processed sugar these days is in soda drinks, Cola, etc. Ugh.

Me too... I still like posh chocolate now and then, and it's hard to find fruit juice with Stevia in it instead. Sugar does eff you up as much as booze does, in similar as well as different ways.

Hope you read my link, Chico. Great vids btway!

^There is no sugar in beer, however, alcohol can lower your blood sugar which is why you are usually hungry after a night of heavy drinking. Drinking cocktails and wine can be disastrous for someone who has diabetes.

And then there's aspartame in the diet drinks.
Coke has a stevia line now. Green label. I noticed it in NZ a year ago.

yes.. that is why I don't drink fruit juice at all unless it is freshly squeezed. The stuff you buy in the grocery are mostly just sugar.

^ Even worse than sugar... better to stick with sugar, than those cancer inducing chemicals.

dickie...Are you including stevia in that statement? I know aspartame is bad. I've been using stevia since I had to cut back on sugar. I was under the impression that stevia was a "natural" sweetner.

Another thing I have to watch out for is HFCS. Here in the States they put that crap in everything...even some breads ffs. But it's especially prevalent in soft drinks.

What about blue agave as a sweetener, heard anything bad on that?
