Are these Mushrooms safe to eat?

Had a couple of torrential rainy days and noticed these sprung up all over the garden, was contemplating a mushroom soup for starters tonight.

    What do you think?

As a former mushroom gatherer (both edible and hallucinogenic) I would BEWARE!

You need a good mushroom guidebook complete with tests that you can perform in your kitchen. They range from water exposure reactions and others.

Where are you now??..UK or Thailand?

My wife (Issan) has seen similar on the farm and was told not to touch them!

There are MANY copycat mushrooms (i.e.: poisonous looks like edible) that need to be tested first.

I wouldn't fuck around with eating something you can't identify with certainty.

Hmmm. A tea, I would say, rather than a soup. Lots of honey as they taste bloody awful. Will you be online in a few hours? If so I'm looking forward to some interesting posts.

Just had a taste and opted for some black pepper, would give Jamie Oliver a run for his money.

    Cheers for that...

Psilocybin mushrooms, also known as psychedelic mushrooms, are a polyphyletic group of mushrooms that contain the psychedelic compounds psilocybin, psilocin and baeocystin. Common colloquial terms include magic mushrooms and shrooms.[1] They are used mainly as an entheogen and recreational drug whose effects can include euphoria, altered thinking processes, closed and open-eye visuals, synesthesia, an altered sense of time and spiritual experiences. Biological genera containing psilocybin mushrooms include Copelandia, Galerina, Gymnopilus, Inocybe, Mycena, Panaeolus, Pholiotina, Pluteus, and Psilocybe. Over 100 species are classified in the genus Psilocybe.

Psilocybin mushrooms may have been used since prehistoric times. They are possibly depicted in Stone Age rock art in Europe and Africa, and have a history of use in pre-Columbian Mesoamerica. Many cultures have used these mushrooms in their religious rites and ceremonies

Soup was reasonable, no trip report yet.
Gonna try an after dinner cup of tea with extra honey.
