Thread: Turkeys in Thailand

Bugger.
Apparently there wont be any this year.

"I hear no Turkeys are to be imported this year again. We at sausage King will be putting on Ham joints and Stuffed pork belly rolls etc."

Anyone know anything more?
I've got friends coming up for Xmas and we need a turkey. Nothing else will do.

I've got friends coming up for Xmas and we need a turkey. Nothing else will do.

No loss, fella. It's an average meat.

Stick to lamb, beef or chicken for your Christmas roast with some ham on the side to give it a kick.

You won't regret it.

I guess the next demand for turkeys will be on 24th November (Thanksgiving). Maybe find out any restaurant/resort that will be celebrating it, and ask where they are sourcing theirs from.

Previous years, Villa Market has done frozen turkeys, and in fact, proving a cooking service also.

my neighbour breeds turkeys up here in issan. not my 'cup of tea' but if you are interested, let me know.
they make it over the fence occasionally but i'm sure he'll sell them, too.

Didn't look large but I actually saw some Turkeys near Ban Sathan last year only size of big chicken, ask around you may be able to sorce within the province.

Spoke to the manager at Sportsman, Pattaya yesterday and asked him if they were having turkey on their xmas menu this year.

Last Xmas he tried everywhere and drove all the way to Phuket from Parttaya to take all the stock the Makro there had. And that stock was from the previous Xmas.

Oh and CJ, if you have any cranberry sauce going spare...... did I tell you i was of to Blighty for Xmas?

We've got some but it's not going spare.
I must say I envy you having Xmas in the UK. It's one of the few things I miss.

Still, onwards and upwards, turkeys will be found cooked and consumed, one way or the other.
