They won't be butterballs....

A "real" turkey is about twice as big as a chicken. Maybe 3-4 pounds if you're lucky.

Yup, but we'll see how we go.
I can buy turkeys at the local smugglers market and we considered getting a couple and feeding them up but it's too much like work.
Butterballs are what we want and we'll see how we go.

Was down at Macro Friday. Spoke with the manager who I know well. He made a call to Makro HQ. Was told no turkey from US. Thailand has not lifted the US poultry import ban yet. Any Butterball you might find will be at least 2 years old. Although turkeys can be frozen for many years without "spoiling" if not cooked within a year quality drops way off.

Last year I did manage to get a local turkey. It was very disappointing.

No clue. I believe you are in Chiangrai? Bit of a trip but give Rimping market in CM a call. They may have turkey from Aus or UK.

Unfortunately, importation of US turkeys to Thailand is still prohibited this year. Therefore, we do not have any stock of frozen turkeys this season. Sorry for the inconvenience.
