I used to enjoy banana custard too, but Bird's custard rather than Ambrosia.

^ When I go 'advanced level' I use Birds Custard Powder and then usually pass the custard through a sieve to remove the lumps.

I apologize for the above drunk comment Mendy. Not sure where it came from. Anyways I love banana custard I used to eat it with my grandfather.

No worries mate, I knew it must have been a mistake because everyone loves banana custard, even Americans!

The custard was heated up enough to burn on the bottom of the saucepan. Yes, even a suposedly simple dessert has it's pitfalls.

I'll await the colour of your reppo with interest as I'm constantly amazed at the eating habits of you foreigners!

'Americans' only do the good stuff.

In this case though, I don't see any centuries - old donut tradition being trampled on.

Dated back to C14 aka krapfen, but I think they were eaten rather than trampled on. However, I can see how you might want to trample on the above.

With all the fried food TC eats and now that donut, I don't know how TC keeps his weight under 120kg. Amazing.

^ For those that do not have a dirty mind.

I bet you used your willy to make a hole before eating.

Don't think I knew this thread existed. I'm a keen dessert maker with a focus on old style desserts...think Womens Weekly type recipes (the Aussies will understand that reference).

My first offering for your admiration is a Chocolate Self Saucing Pudding. A chocolate cake with slightly crusty top floating on a thickish sweet chocolate sauce. I generally remain true to the recipe although the wife will often request dried cranberries be added...they end up in the cake. Served with ice cream, or custard, or for a real test of the heart muscle, both of them.
