    This thread needs re-naming.

'Charlie's a fat fooker' should do the job.

Yesterday i had to go to the debt office. So to salve my soul i dropped by a department store in town. They have Waitrose products, Pats ate half a jar of pickled onions in balsamic vinegar.... with glee.

Wherever we live in the world we still crave things from home.

    Defrosting black pudding for tonight.

To true pats , I was in Germany for 3 years and all I wanted to eat was a ginsters pasty from a petrol station , had one when I got back then didn't go near them again .

    Angel delight.. love it.

I got three jars of Marmite for Xmas. How the hell am i going to eat all that. On toast, sarnies, try to make a bovril drink. Sell them with a rather large profit. There's so much you can try to do.

But i do take lots of cheese and chocolate home to them... My mum has two years worth of those Lindor balls. And the f-ing truth is that they are cheaper to buy in Sainsburys than here in Swissland.

I do take my sis some Benson and hedges because they are half the price here than there.

Last night I craved a curry. So, this morning down to the market to get some fresh ingredients.

My take on a Balti (yes, I know it's a bowl), chapatti, Basmati rice with a side dish of fresh yoghurt, banana and red pepper.

    Looks nice.

The ratio to curry and rice is balanced and a bit of bread on the side for mopping up duties is an added bonus.

I do have a problem with the word "banana" though. Is it a typo and that you meant the word "mint" instead of banana?

If that is actually banana in your yogurt then I have a problem getting my head around it.

WHY BANANA FOR GODS SAKE MAN!!!

Need to spread some love before I can green you BTW.

Alot of people eat sliced banana with a curry, sort of cools down the heat of the curry. And adds a sweetness, a bit like chutney.

That's what we got with curry when at boarding school in Rhodesia at the age of 10... sliced banana and dessicated coconut as well. Great in a chicken curry!!

Oops, i'd forgotten about the dessicated coconut!!! My mum would also put chopped up cucumber in plain yoghurt. This was all good until my dad brought back a jar of real lime pickle from Delhi... shise, i remember the smell of that even today!!! But it was gooood.

I take back my banana reference.

Tell a lie, no I don't. You guys with your authentic ethnic food may be correct, but Sanjay has never put any banana things in my curries or condiments (that I know of) back in the U.K or here in Thailand.

Do you guys really love a 'nana with your main course?

Looks like you guys (and girl) are correct that bananas do get added, but it still seems a bit weird to me.

^ Bogon. Fresh red bell pepper sliced, sliced banana and fresh yoghurt. Try it, I think you'll like it.

Something seems to have gone very wrong with the egg, and why is there a small bowl of tar on your breakfast/lunch table???
