looks nice, but i always thought thai food was spicy and she didnt add one chilli or chilli paste to it. and as for adding the salt to the pineapple, gaa!!!

when i was in Philippines last year, i bought some chopped pineapple with a girl. she only added salt to it. never tasted something so awful in my life. i just had to spit it out

I remember when I first bought a bag of steamed peanuts, you know the ones still in the shell, after putting the first one in my mouth and spitting it out I threw the bag away, didn't realise that was how they were meant to be, quite like them now

Same for me, can't stand savoury mixed with sweet fruit.

Putting pineapple on a pizza should carry a jail term.

i know what you mean with pineapple on pizza. and i forgot all about this, even when i saw the recipe for thai fried rice with pineapple, and that is pineapple with gammon steak. awk god, how awful. i always ate the gammon when i was a kid

anyhow, here's what my Thai fried rice with pineapple looked like. i saw a few different recipes on the net. i wanted one which has chilli, so this is mine.

it was great to be honest. really great to have something different too

    here's the list:-

    • 1 cup pineapple tidbits (fresh is better, but canned works too)
    • 4 cups cooked rice, preferably at least 1 day old
    • 4 Tbsp oil for stir-frying
    • 2 shallots, thinly sliced
    • 3 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 red or green chili (de-seeded if milder rice is desired)
    • 1/2 cup roasted unsalted cashews
    • 1/2 cup frozen peas
    • 1 egg, beaten (omit if vegan)
    • 1/4 cup currants (or raisins)
    • 3 Tbsp. chicken or vegetable stock
    • 3 Tbsp. fish sauce (or substitute 3+ 1/2 Tbsp. soy sauce if vegetarian)
    • 2 tsp. curry powder
    • 1 tsp. sugar
    • 3 spring onions, finely sliced
    • 1/3 cup fresh coriander
    • Optional: 8-12 fresh shrimp/prawns
and some ham and sweetcorn added as the other website had this and hardly any of the above
