Brandy Snaps - (would you call it a biscuit?)

Bringing back the 80s this week with a classic but an up to date finish.

These are amazingly easy and delicious. Give them a try and post your pictures!

"Brandy snaps" and certainly not from the 80's.

I could do, but surely a video showing the consistency, technique, size and process is more helpful no?

No brandy? I had never thought about it before, only the name suggests brandy might be involved.

Mixed views. Many of the videos showcase chef skills that I will never acquire, like that super fast chopping action turning a vegetable into uniformly wafer-thin slices without losing any fingertips. I'll never emulate all that egg cracking where they don't get shell and white and broken yolk all over their hands and work surfaces. I never see a dishcloth in those videos. Then there are all those just so shiny bowls and pans and no tripping over the dog. I prefer a recipe so that I have no gold standard against which to compare the confused pile that ends up on my plate.
On the other hand, I have found some of the wine making videos useful and I could sit and watch Li Qizi's videos all day and not care for a moment about her idealised images of rural Sichuan.

Haha, no brandy. If i remember correctly, the name is derived from 'branding' otherwise know as 'burning'. Im not sure why it evolved to the word brandy.

Some recipes do contain brandy, however i have always found it to be an unnecessary expense that adds little to the end product.

Absolutely not. I was just expressing a preference.

This is not the case, as stated earlier, the name has nothing to do with the ingredients. By all means, add brandy if that suites you.
