Amari is nice, 3500 THB for standard room, nice breakfast
Price range???

The Royal Cliff. Easily the nicest hotel in Pattaya, with Sheraton a close second. Minimum 6000 a night. I'll post some pics when I get home if I remember.
There is also a very nice hotel at the very end Walking Street, very nice room etc... about 6000 THB a night
Depends on your friend, definitely a good location for partying and bringing teenage twins home
The Hard Rock has the biggest pool in Pattaya, but the rooms are pretty basic.
The Royal Cliff has a few pools, depending what wing you are in. Nice place, especially if you speak Russian.
I think I'd go the Sheraton.
Yeah I like the Sheraton more -- it has nicer grounds and is a bit smaller, and the hot girls who work there wear these great traditional Thai outfits.
I have to go teach class but I'll upload some pics of both in a bit.
Sheraton is one of the newest high end resorts. Highly recommended. Reviews are very good of this resort. Unfortunately I think this particular stretch of ocean in front of it is not ideal for swimming, but beautiful nonetheless.
Okay, so first we have the Royal Cliff. Probably the biggest hotel in Pattaya, it boasts 12 different restaurants and about 6 swimming pools. Walking around this place I saw loads of Russians and Japanese being carted from building to building in those carts like the ones they have in Samui Airport. I doubt most patrons here leave the hotel.
My g/f worked at the spa here for about 6 months, and she told me that they even have a restaurant on a boat that goes around near the hotel. Minimum room price is 6000 baht, with the penthouse on top going for 100k, which comes with its own butler.
This is the main outdoor dining area. The buffet here is apparently pretty good, and for 750 baht it damn well better be.
"Fuck off. And take your stupid cult with you."

Next we come to the Sheraton, which is close to the Royal Cliff. This place is a bit smaller, but the design is a lot nicer. Minimum is 6000 baht for a room.
We were here in the morning to get more pages for our passports (The US Embassy was in town) and we checked out the breakfast buffet. For 550 baht, it ain't worth it. The food looked good, but there just wasn't enough variety. Still, the restaurant is tastefully decorated in Thai decor.
Cabbages and Condoms is another nice hotel in the area. The g/f and I had lunch there one day and I'm happy to report that the restaurant is fantastic. The beach is okay too.
Rent a Condo in Viewtalay 2 nice pools and a lot less pricey , then he will have spare cash to take you for a few beers and a shag .
thanks to all for the ideas especially durian fan for the pics. very helpful.
On my first visit to pattaya I stayed at the Dusit Resort Hotel at the end of the main Pattaya beach. It was part fo a package tour and for 10 days from UK it cost only £680. (complete) That was for a room for 2. I still see that advert in the Daily Mail most days. It seems a really good deal. It has 2 pools and a tennis court. The small beach semmes like a private one but it is just a continuation of the main beach. About 4 years a go they built a raised walkway whick allows people to walk right round the point of land on which the hotel sits. Before that it was only possible to walk round at low tide. The walkway is now in a poor condition due to the salt water but it tends to keep the small beach quite private. Excellent pool furniture and resturants. (About 1000 baths to bring in "friend" 6 years ago) The package deal is really good value.
These condos go up so quickly....is there anywhere that I can find a simple map showing ALL of the condo blocks?? BTW I walked the full length of Jomtien last month and saw a few blocks of accommodation. I didnt know if they were condos or not. They looked like drab and depressing Russian prison blocks. Some of them seemed to stretch way back inland for a mile or so...they are SO long.Originally Posted by Sparky
