How is life in Chanthaburi ? Best area to live ?

    Hi,

We are thinking about relocating in eastern part. Could you tell me which is the best area to live in Chanthaburi to avoid the traffic jam, the pollution and flooding ? We would like to rent a house with 3 bedrooms and with a large garden for long term. It must be not so far from downtown. How is life in Chanthaburi ? All advises would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks !

I've spent some time there, not a lot but enough to get a feel for it. It's very, very sleepy and quiet. Not my thing really but if that's what you're after - and it sounds like you are - then you can't go wrong.

No clue on what you'd pay for rents etc. there but I don't imagine it would be much. Floods, yep they get those there too so you'll need to get some local knowledge on the affected areas.

Other random thoughts... Some good seafood restaurants there and it's pretty close to Koh Chang which is good.

I'll give you some help. Just Google 'Rental Properties Chanthaburi'.

    These look nice. https://www.airbnb.co.uk/s/Chanthabu...verride%5B%5D=

what you want first is short term and cheapish - then you can actually have a look around

thailand - where the best way to complain is to move house

a member JPPr comes to mind - he had a pig farm built just over the back fence where he was renting
