Koh Chang - Trat Airport - Bkk Swampy?

I'm flying out of Swampy on February 3rd at 3pm, back to HK.

I'll spend the last portion of this trip on Koh Chang. And I can get a 10am flight from Trat that lands at Swampy at 11am. Couple hours in the airport no problem, with some gap time in case of delays departing Trat (bugger catching the bus, it was torture the last time)

Question is: can I get an early morning ferry (7/8am) from Koh Chang and get to Trat airport by 9am (check-in time) or is it better to play it safe and get the last ferry (time?) on the evening of the 2nd and spend a night in Trat? I'd prefer not to, because AFAIK Trat hasn't much to see/do.

And are Bangkok Airways reliable? Often delayed? Weather problems frequent?

The price is pretty decent - THB2750..

The car Ferries start very early 6am is the first run.
I would make some arrangements so you can get from the ferry to the airport.

    Good luck.

Seems do-able. Wouldn't want to miss the flight to Honkers.

If I stayed a night in Trat is there anything to see/do? Decent night market and/or resto?

Maybe I should just man the fuck up and take a bus back to Bangers - only 10 or so hours of torture, right?

This is the best answer to your question. This service is tied in with Bangkok Airways so the plane won't leave without you.

I have known the plane to wait for late passengers. A beautiful little airport. 5 minutes from kerbside to plane seat.

    Thanks for the answers fellas.

I will definitely make use of that service, as I have a couple mates who will prolly climb on the same flight as me.

On the other hand, I only start work again on the 17th of Feb, so I might continue to lounge around Thailand for a week or so more (believe me - the pollution in Honkers and China is so bad now).

Hoping things don't kick off too badly in the capital.
