Anyone got any ideas?
Flying into bangers at around midnite and gotta get to my mates wedding in Koh Chang that day (late Arvo), looking at different options to get there and being fresh enough to party.
Thanks in anticipation.

Thanks thetyim, so if I got a car from airport and drove down to tart, would I be able to get on ferry that early? I could go down to pats for sleeping etc. And then leave at around 8 am, but it's more stuffing around...
Chang Yai
By some kind of road transport from Bangkok then ferry at trat is your only option I think, unless you know someone with a boat or hire one to take you in Pattaya say.
You been to the island before? I went about four and half years ago lovely place.Does your mate live their? if yes Im envious of the man, lucky Bastard!
I think your pushing it for time mate .
It's too late now but I would have gone a day earlier.
It's a long drive from BKK to Trat .
Best get your mate to video the wedding , so you can see what it was like.
Seriously though mate , stop and have a kip , you'll be fooooked
I'm proud of my 38" waist , also proud I have never done drugs
Aye... Change your flights.
Or stock up on diet pills.
I think the ferries run from something like 7am -7pm. There are 2 car ferried Ao Thammachat which is the quickest at around 25 mins and Centre Point which takes 45 mins.
Its also possible to bribe the ferry captain if you are desperate to get there and its out of normal operating hours.
We did that once when taking a tourist back from Chantaburi and he was deperate to get onto the island. We just missed the last ferry so together with 3 other car owners we bribed the captain of the Centre Point ferry. As to be expected there was lots of drama and haggling but eventually we agreed on 10,000 baht and he took us over.
4 cars of that huge ferry - we felt like VIPs - lol.
There are buses from the airport to Trat. I think there is a night bus as well. If not there will be one in the early am that will get you there on time.
Another option would be to try and find a taxi that would take you to the pier. Should be around 3,000-3,500 baht.
Well, I haven't booked the flight yet, gonna do it tomorrow. Yes I've been to Kho Chang before. Does anyone know when the first ferry leaves from trat?
It's a suprise that I'm coming so I can't call him and ask about ferry times, and I can't find them on the net. I've only gone in the Arvo before.
I can leave a day earlier if I have too, but I'm pressed for time with my business like always. I get to LOS about 3-4 times a year but only for about 10-16 days at a time.
Land at Bangers about midnight clear customs/immigration by 1.00am, grab a rental car and get out on the road by 1.30am
Arrive at Trat bout 5.00am and have a snooze in car.
Jump on first ferry over and your there by 8.00am.
Last time I done it mate I went the day before , had a wonderful overnight with student nurse in BKK then caught the 45min flight to Trat,, arrived knackered although not due to flying
I thought Trat had an airport albeit a small one.
^It does, a very nice one as well, although I think the first flight BKK to Trat, is 7 or 8am. If he arrives in BKK at midnight he can be in Koh Chang by then.
Sure does mate , and it was a hair raising landing.
Think it's BKK airways with one of them funny little prop / jet combies , which literally drops like a stone to land then before you hit the deck the props revolve from an upright position to more like a helicopter .
And if that don't brown your keks. , don't look too close through the cockpit window as the captain still does a paper round
^If every airport was as good as Trat, flying would become bearable again.
I am not sure of the "helicopter" transition but it's always been a pleasant flight when I've taken it. A very laid back but well run airport to be sure.Originally Posted by nigelandjan

Thanks for the advise, I did go a day earlier and needed it, had a relaxing night with a cute lady, made the wedding, did of bit of island hopping on nearby islands for three days, back out tomorrow. Really quick trip, but relaxed and packed a bit of activity in as well.
When I get back I will make an attempt at posting a few photos, using my iPad now and can't seem to get it to work.
Ones without hookers in is a good start.
For the OP - just book a limo car straight from the airport and kip on the drive. At that time in night/ early morning it will only take 3.5 -4 hours if the driver is prepared to boot it. Catch the first ferry, check into a hotel and kip until it's. Hang His Balls up time. Job done.

Well now I have learned to upload photos.... Got to the wedding the afternoon before, made a bit of surprise by turning up. The bride and groom, don't they look happy.
The reception just near where the wedding took place
Yummy food for all.
The next day took off off for a couple of days recovery in koh mak, leaving from the pier at the south end of koh Chang.
