Best to grab one of the many cheap apartments (or even the Riverside Guesthouse) here temporarily while you ask/look around.
But having said that ... and even though I'm living here ... I'm looking for a new house to move to too ... hence the "bump"
(Just another "iron in the fire")
You can use logic to justify anything. That's its power. It’s also its flaw.
Hello my boyfriend and I are currently staying at The River Guest House and we are paying daily for a room, we would like to move out from here and get a house or apartment, close enough to the local market. Our maximum price is 8000 THB. Thank you for any help.
I've been looking for a house here for 3 years. Just found a brand new one for 4500B p/m. There are quite a few shoddy houses around though. You just have to keep an eye out for the "For Rent" signs. "ให้เช่า"
There is Jahn Alahm apartments on top of the hill on the road near the the park for 4000 odd Baht.
Sapphire Tower has cheap apartments from 1800 (fan) to 2400 (air) ... quite near the park in a Soi off Tachalaap Rd. (7/11 on the corner)
Quite a few apartment buildings around the "Robinsons" area ... but you want to be near the markets ... so scrap those.
There are 2 developments at the co -ords below on the opposte side of the road.
12°34'18.67"N
102° 6'49.31"E
I remember that there are often places in there for rent, about 4000b a month, 3 bedroom not furnished. 1 I looked at was less than 1 year old for a friend.
Both sides have an office that maybe of some help, but just drive around and ask around.
I would not like to live within 1km of Robinsons, just stupid traffic for a start.
Those co-ordinates are useless in Google Maps. How about a street name?
12°34'18.67 102° 6'49.31
Do that instead.

They work for me
Thanks. I actually checked those places out when I was looking around a couple of months ago. They're OK if you like living in a box ... surrounded by identical boxes.
Have any of you tried Silaporn Ville?
We rented a four b/r for 10k/month there while setting up our factory
Ok area, better than most of Chanthaburi
What are you making in the factory?
Were. We pulled up sticks and left after one year for a place where there isn't this feeling of entitlement towards foreigners/employers and rampant corruption - but has the same weather, better infrastructure and education and nicer beaches/people/food.
New agricultural technology - all legit.
The only thing we miss is that little cafe by the lake
They make the nicest cakes, very good coffee have free and fast wi-fi and provide a pleasant environment inside and out.
The two owners - quite young - are educated and also quite pleasant, helped us a bit when we first arrived and didn't speak a work of Thai, hope they're still there as they had talked of going to Bangkok.
Only way to find what you want is too go on a walking tour of the area you are looking for.
never noticed, but your right. will look closer next time
