    Suphanburi - Buffalo Village

Located almost 70 km northeast of Kanchanaburi or about 2 1/2 hours from BKK, Suphanburi is a very old Thai town. Recently, I decided to visit the Buffalo Village that was originally started by the HM the King.

The theme of the park is to show the old ways of farming and living in Thailand.

An old buffalo cart. In the background you can see a shed where the grain and hay/grass were stored.

Some of the grounds were quite nice.

Even the hillbilly knows how to drive a buffalo...

The rope is put through the buffaloes nose with a sharp wooden stick.

The plowing demonstration. This was new to me because back home we used a John Deere.

Sorta like a Santa Claus in Thailand...

    A buffalo smiling...

Don't try this at home especially in the living room.

Overall, the Buffalo trip is well worth a visit with the family. The majority of the exhibits are hands on and the kids can fish or learn how to plant rice, ride a buffalo or even scoop buffalo poop...
