I had my first test of Bell's when I worked on a farm in Devon back in 1977. I think it's lovely and I still buy a bottle now and then when I spot it at a duty free shop.
good on you Budhai - as I say - Bell's is good shit
Bell's is far superior to
Grant's

Same price but much nicer
Is this more British humor?Originally Posted by Thetyim
Yea me too, Grouse is a bit smother, a bottle of Jamersons for a little more money is quite nice, one of the best blended whiskeys IMOOriginally Posted by Begbie
I'm still worried about Queen Anne: Rhyming slang or real whiskey?
You think too muchOriginally Posted by buadhai

Agreed. Tulamore Dew is another smoothy from Ireland.Originally Posted by RandomChances
I haven't seen that brand TheTyim - Queen Anne that is , but I'm in the UK at the moment - maybe it's export only stuff.
I'm not a great fan of the Irish Whisky such as Jamesons - I'd rather have a bourbon.
Ah, now you're talking.Originally Posted by colourful-era
Bourbon is my favourite.
I don't like Scotch Whisky and Queen Anne was the only one I found drinkable. It was sold in my local pub in UK, so it isn't export only.
The landlord was Scottish and he used to drink it too.
Bourbon for mixing, Scotch to drink straight up.
Personally I just like to drink spirits neat.
I love the rough edge bourbon has.
as for the best , for me it has to be an Islay Single Malt Scotch.
but whatever you drink - even it it's 40yr old Cognac - ultimately it's all the same - ie: the hangover - is it worth the euphoria (as I always chuck a bit of the ganga in to session) - yey, is it still worth it I ask..
YES , it is!
and of course I would say that as basically I am talking to myself as usual - -we are all mates now ay!!!!!!!
As for Scotch, I like the Bowmore Surf. But, this all comes down to a matter of personal preference, doesn't it?
^the Bowmore 'Surf' -what the fuck are you on about - do you mean 'stuff'
if you mean Bowmore Single Malt then I am with you my friend
this is a good Islay Single Malt IMO - and reasonably priced
not quite as good as Laphraoig but , well, who is?
^ok old chap -sound tasty!
I like the flavour of the sea - saltiness and openness and all that
have you ever tried 'Old Pultentey' Budhai?
I just found out the other day there isn't much whiskey I can drink whilst being a vegetarian.
Never have, but I enjoyed the web site. Sounds a lot like the "Surf".Originally Posted by colourful-era

yeah, not a bad whisky that one
it's a bit obscure but has a distinctive taste and all that
Ice Maiden - isn't it past your bedtime yet you bad girl?

As to favourites then Glen Morangie would be mine, with a cube of ice. Used to drink either Grouse or Jamersons with water.
The Bowmore they sell here is pretty good for the price, better than Jhonny Walker, 100 Pipers ect.
I've actuall become to prefer the taste of rum now though, probably just my tase buds getting used to it
I have more than the average number of arm and legs
