    I was close...

Nice to have quality connections, especially when they can sort you out some quality beer. My 'big' connection, Somchai, can get me 5 baht off a big Chang, and that's about it.

    Just out of interest:

    British Columbia Beer Guide

ack Hand of God Stout Lean in body and powerful in flavour, Back Hand of God Stout has won many consumers' choice awards. This dry stout is easy to drink, rich and inviting. It is extraordinarily smooth and mildly hopped with a distinct coffee/chocolate presence.
1st place "Best Beer" at the Okanagan Fest-of-Ale, 2000 and 2007; At the Hops, 2000 and 2001; and "Best Organic Alcoholic Beverage" at the Organic Harvest Awards, 2005
    5.2% alcohol/vol. 18BU

I like the sound of that. Anybody ever tried some?

No high connections. BC is still in the dark ages when it comes to "PoP". The BC liquor stores have lists of product. You can order and then wait and wait and.........

Thanks for the link, never knew it existed, new reason for heading into the big city.

Yes, but it's always fun to talk about beer.

Up here in the sticks, I drink Leo in the main, but sometimes have a few dunkels at Nobi's or a Guinness at the 'Clock.

Is Guiness Extra Stout available yet rare along the coast? I make my own version 20 L at a batch because it is not available here & a flavor that I savor.

I just discovered a lovely drop :Kronenbourg 1664 Blanc

    Kronenbourg 1664 Blanc

"It smells of coriander, orange peel, wheat, and light yeastiness. The flavor is very citrusy, lots more orange peel than coriander, which I like. Maybe a touch thin, but the spicing is well done and there’s a gentle yeastiness that mellows things nicely. This is quite a bit better than what I was expecting. Light bodied and very easy drinking with soft carbonation".

I drink what's cold and within budget.

Loads of decent beer in China, surprisingly enough.

Even got a couple of German fellas brewing up their own stuff - decent stuff, bit pricey.

I ordered that by mistake thinking it was normal Kronenbourg, not one that seems like a Frenchman has cum in it.
