Right o - lets take a stock check

2 and a half l ltr bottles of Glayva - like that with ice.
1 btle Glen Orchy Malt Whiskey
    2 x 1 lt bottles of Glenfiddich
1 and a half btles Bells 8 years whisky
    3/4 bottle Tia Maria
    1/2 bottle Baileys
l bottles DOWs late vintage port
3/4 bottle Brugal Extra Viejo (Rum)
    1 bottle Courvoisier Brandy
    I bottle Sang Som
    l Bottle Thai Whiskey
    1 Champange
3 reds and 2 white wines - not into wines so usually give these to me brother

Trouble is I don't drink at home unless I have company and not if I'm driving in the morning - and I rarely have company over here in the UK. So it will stay on the shelf for another time - probably get a few more bottles as Xmas boxes next month.

Oh nearly forgot 1/2 bottles of that Laos whisky with the ginsing in.

    One case of tall heinekens

Alas, my 2-week experiment of no booze in the house has ended.

My null hypothesis that absence of alcohol in the house would render me sober a larger percentage of the time and therefore healthier and happier was disproved.

    Sober, yes.
    Healthier, perhaps.
    Happier, not a chance.
Perhaps a regression analysis is in order.

    Had a check yesterday:

    2 Bombay Gin
    1 Gordon's Gin
    1/2 Bacardi
    1 Black Label
    1 Courvoisier
    1 Remy Martin
    1 Tequila
    1 Dry Vermouth
    1 Calvados
    1 Kaluha
    1 Tia Maria
    2 bottles of Cointraeu
2 Absolut Vodka (blackcurrant & conventional)
1 1/2 bottle of Czech Absinthe
1 1/2 bottle of Jordanian Arak
1 large bottle of Linie Aquavit (non plus ultra!)
1 bottle of Finnish Laponia (Blueberry liquor)
1 bottle of Finnish Laponia (Cloudberry liquor)
2 bottles of Vietnamese Cobra spirits (Cobra, herbs and spirits)
7 bottles of various wines in the fridge
Lots of beer (Heineken, Tiger, Singha Light) - this is where I have the highest turnover.

I obviously buy (& receive) more booze than I am capable of drinking.

Come to think of it -before we got married, the wife used to mix me a mean dry martini when I got home from work. Nowadays, I usually get an earful if I have a drink before dinner.

One less bottle of Champagne, which I opened on Saturday to celebrate Suharto finally kicking the bucket, about 30 years too late, IMHO.

Have another two waiting, labelled Than Shwe and Ariel Sharon.....
