    Family "Buddha Room"

Our Buddha shelf in the hall of "Ban Sabai Sabai" (after re-placement - elderly people from village convinced the missus that it should be on MY multimedia wall. I changed her mind! And everybody is happy anyway)

You don't point the soles of your feet towards the statue, you don't grab it in the head if you lift it, and you watch your thoughts, words and actions in front of it. Cheers.

I have been made to believe that direction is important - the Buddha statue should face east, i.e. face the sunrise.

I just googled "Buddha direction" and it looks like, each Buddha statue has an assigned direction.

Not sure which one we have.

All of the knowledgeable Monks were very busy today. I did not even have a chance to discuss Dhamma with anyone of them

I once rented a house where the Buddha shelf was in a dumb position attached to a window so that I could not close curtains and at a height so that the corners were at eye level.

I moved it to another position high up on a wall column and well out of the way. Of course the landlady was angry because I had moved Buddha without getting a party of monks to oversee a two day Buddha moving ceremony.

I had it explained to Mrs Landlady that Buddha had appeared to me in a dream and complained that the afternoon sun on his back through the window was too hot for him and he would much prefer to be high up near the front door so he could see who was coming to the house and what was going on outside in the street. The landlady's desire to call me a lying c**t was counterbalanced by the nagging fear in her mind that I might actually be telling the truth.
