Thread: Bobcock at Wat Benjamabophit Dusitwanaram (The Marble Temple)

Located on Thanon Ayutthaya.

Originally called Wat Laem or Wat Saithong, it was restored by King Rama IV and renamed Wat Benjabopit.

in 1899 King Rama V had it rebuilt completely under the Nation's chief architect Prince Narissaranuwattiwong using white marble from italy.

It houses a copy of the revered Jinaraj Buddah (the original is in Pitsanulok).

I was there last saturday at 6:30 in the morning, the weather was excellent which i think is reflected in the pictures.

This temple is not in Ayutthaya, it's in Bangkok on Thanon Ayutthaya near Chitralada Palace.

You'll have to tell me which picture you want to know about, they are all different lenses, setting etc. There is no exposure bracketing aprt from the one HDR shot.

I particularly like these two. It's obvious you know your way around your kit. Great composition too.

The first one is taken with a manually set fill in flash metered to the outside lighting conditions.

1/200 [at] f10, underexposed by 1/3rd of a stop. ISO100

Had to photoshop the internal a little just to bring up the colour.

The second is the HDR I mentioned, I was recreating a pcture posted on the Boston Glode site and discussed in another thread. The original was taken late afternoon with the light on the face you can see, mine was taken at 7am with the light behind the temple hence the need to construct a HDR.

I still think there is something in the pic, maybe a fill in flash to highlight the underside of the arch or maybe it is a HDR also.....not sure
