Phuket has two, the Phuket Post and the Phuket Gazette, although you need to use the term 'newspaper' loosely when considering them.

"Positive reviews of any shithole that invites the muppet reporters for a free dinner mixed with rave reviews of the latest property development and a few classifieds" would probably be more accurate.

They throw in the occasional mention of the activities of the governor or his staff in an ironic sort of nod at what a 'newspaper' is actually supposed to be.

On the train thing, the wife had left for BKK yesterday from Trang and well should of arrived in BKK at about 8-8:30....guess what she just spoke to me and she wasabout 30-50 mins away from BKK and that was at 12:30!!!! Fecking useless these trains..one westerner on the train near her said that he had to get a flight from the airport at 1:30...that ain't happening...Wonder if TAT (trains of Thailand) will reimburse his flight money...she didn't say where this guy was going but he was....losing the plot..as he had apparently asked if it was plenty of time to get to the airport....YES (always the reply when it comes to handing over money in this country)
