I think the UK sees most bikers as moderately successful middle aged men who seem to make up a large part of the biking scene nowadays.

Hopefully the kids wont have had their perception of people who ride motorbikes influenced by films and movies and just see them as people.
Kids aren't born with stereotypes and racism. It is the adults and media that place these thoughts in their head. You can't judge all people by the outside that's for sure.

Great work, Loombucket. The kids have such beautiful smiles, and look quite happy.

Ditto. Now there are 3 of us on this forum all trying to help the poor and needy kids of this country. And, because of this thread, I think others will want to fill their time more constructively as we do, keeping in mind that the only way out of poverty is through education.

So, Loomey and I could and should keep you forum members posted and pictured.

I would be happy to post any and all pics and stories on my website.

I'm sorry, but that's a ridiculous statement to make. How do you know what the people on this forum are doing? All you know is what they wish to publicise. I'd bet there are far more than 3 TDers helping out needy kids, but hiding their light under the proverbial bushel. People like you & I might publicise what we do, xlineshooter, but others just get on & do it.

True, there are a number of people who have never been to Thailand that deposit funds in an account for me in the states and I draw here and spend the money on students from my wifes school for winter clothing and food for lunch programs and such.
I know of others that help support orphanages and schools up north also, but nothing is ever said about doing it.

No, it didn't seem like sarcasm. He's spoken at length on another thread in the Lounge about how to put children that speak virtually no English at ease when teaching them and how to retain their attention & interest. Why would I think this to be sarcasm?

I'm not defensive. I don't do anything for needy kids. I'd be the first to admit that. But others on here do.

I stand corrected my friend. My number three just came from what I read. Poor assumption on my part.

Really? I'm obviously well out of touch. It's a very different story in Aus.
Given the cost of a new Harley these days, whenever I pass by a bar or cafe in Florida with a bunch of new big bikes outside and middle-aged guys in colors lounging around I assume it is a meeting of Hell's Dentists.

Fundraising at a rural... 01-07-2009 02:14 PM jandajoy TWAT. I've run with bikes for years. You're a fool.

jj, You are the one that is SAD and the fool. Bikers around the world do a lot of charity work and help many misguided souls to better themselves. Maybe all us bikers should get together and help you. You really are in need of some kind of help.

This might be true, couldn't discount the genuineness of some biker groups. And then we can also observe the minority groups that configure into a real nasty way.

Could be, I know Sunny was not a lawyer and also I know no honest lawyers, The Angels do hire a lot of lawyers, same as any big Corp. which they are, and so a licensed lawyer might be the head man of that INC. now.
I have a couple of friends that ride with the Angels, I will ask.

    Fab thread, Loomy! Thank you.
I love the biker guys. I remember some tough-looking Thai guys showing up for Temple stuff and charities. The Phuket big bikers used to come en masse to Samui to see their friends and party. Nice people.

Rode a bike for fifty years (or more) Started off with an Italian scooter finished off on a Norton Commando (850cc). Rode in all (UK) weathers - business and pleasure -never did like the ice and snow. Wore leather jacket, boots, jeans, bandanas and fancy T-shirts. Never had a major accident, mixed with the best -and the worst! They're a great bunch of comrades, always ready to help, whatever bike you ride - (except for scooters! Well, that's not really a bike, is it!). Never broke down without being surrounded by every biker passing, offering help. They're a grand bunch with hearts of gold.
