    Some pix from around Phetchabun

As its started to cool down around here its a lot easier to get out and about during the day without the fear of getting burnt to a crisp or just lately, wet.

Huai Pa Deang dam is about 8kms out side of Phetchabun and was built to serve the area for irrigation and whatnot. Its a nice place to go and flex out, have a beer, picnic or when the waters low camp out for a night. The waters very high at the moment so its beers and food, no camping.

First thing you come across on the way up is this outlet thingy. Impressive, I know.

If you look closely at this pic on the right hand side, halway up the bank are some people so you get an idea of the size, not massive but fairly big

Some of the scenery around here is really nice, lots of hilly bits with green stuff all over them. I wanted to go to the water edge to get some pics but I only had flip flops on, its quite rocky and the boy said he was scared of the crocodiles that live in there, bless him.

This pier has some sort of thingy at the end that looks like it lets all the water out and drains the reservoir, well thats my idea anyway. Its gated off, not to stop people emptying the water, to stop kids jumping off the end of it when the water isnt quite so high. Its pretty deep as the last time I came the base looked about 25ft high and I was told theres about another 20ft under water. My wife told me that so it might be 5ft, who knows.

For all you fans of black steel thingys at the end of piers here a treat for you.

Nice place for a house, great views, plenty of water and err stuff I guess.

The area behind that pumphouse was dry the last time I was here, it must be a good 30 or 40 ft down as there were people camping on a flat bit with a pickup, tents and BBQ going. With the water being so high this is the end of the road, shame as I wanted to go all round it and sit with a beer somewhere, plus the crocodiles can jump out of the water and bite your leg off so the boy says.

Taking his advice and walking away with all limbs intact we went for a Pepsi in one of the food places there, the pics were boring stuff only grandmas and grandads would like so I'll spare you them

More pics of Phetch when I get round to doing them, dont hold your breath......

Im not sure to be honest, I dont know if there are any fish in it. I suppose if you had a jetksi or windsurfer you could go on it. Theres a bloke in a small building at the entrance who must be someone more official than the people in the shops but he was asleep so I couldnt ask him.

I forgot this pic, lots of cows round there. We all know what they look like but this thread might need padding a bit.
