Thread: A Weekend in Chiang Mai

Left Bangkok Friday morning to head to Chiang Mai for a day of football and sightseeing. Lion Air was the cheapest option, but lose points for confiscating my beer i'd bought in the departure lounge but was drinking on the plane. Teammates using Air Asia later on didn't have this issue.

Found a 50p on the plane.



We stayed at the Chiang Mai Design Hotel. About 3kthb for two nights inc. an extra bed for the kid. Each floor has a different theme. The bed is glorious.






Straight to dinner at Ginger Farm where the wife declared could eat at every day for the rest of her life. She might just have been hungry though.

The next day I minced off to play football while they explored Chiang Mai. I'll let you decide who had more fun.













It stayed mostly dry all day but was very cloudy. The pitch was terrible. Still managed to get sunburnt somehow.



Dinner was well received.




Kid cannot get enough of these little food toy things.



My head is leaking an unknown substance and my legs hurt.

No, luckily it was a 1 day tournament. In nammininininin having lunch before our flight a little later on.

No I don't think so.

Nice area but most of the expat bar stuff was a bit further away. GRAB was easy and inexpensive though.

You chose the right time, the road was underwater last night when it piddled down.

some good bars and retraunts on the other side of the main road. not much use to you now admittedly.

not my favourite part of town but great for when with Fam.

Definitely the right position in that climate.

Hotel looks great as does the food.

Always enjoyed my time in CM.

Goalkeeper got "injured" so I bravely took over. Not that I was having much luck on the right wing anyway.

Yeah good area for the family. I'm a day drinker so not much happening when I'm available. I was asleep by 8 Saturday night so the wife and kid went to the night market

I'm 170cm in a full sized goal. Not as many as I thought I would but it was still a few...
