No offence, but this proves that the whole concept of Emotional Support Animals is a crock of shite.

As the hotel wouldn't refund our extra week my wife's cousin has come to use another room. They will be going off on some adventure.

Flight wise, did you sleep ok ? Or not at all ? What did you have for entertainment on the flight ? 18 hours is a long slog

No offence taken. It is definitely BS.

But luckily available for us because they wont let Boston Terriers fly in cargo and he is to heavy for Korean Air. So it was really our only option to get him over.

Yes indeed, how do you make fun of other people (me and my wife's favorite pastime) if there are no other people around?
Wife might even turn on me.
No No No, we need other people to keep her distracted.

I'm not sure as I didn't come along it was just the wife and dog.

I assume they slept as a stewardess came to make up a bed for them. I can't imagine there are many flights longer it must be on the limit of fuel capacity.

I think for in cabin it depends on size.

Chock-dee is over the 7 kg limit for most airlines that is why we choose Singapore air as they still allow ESA dogs. My wife was able to get an ESA letter online for like $75

You will need a few documents for Thailand, an entry permit, proof of vaccinations, a USDA certificate from an approved vet and a microchip #,

Transit through Singapore was harder. Make sure your layover doesn't exceed 4 hours or there will be more hoops to jump through

The documents for transit are: Same as above and you need a transshipment license that you get online and is a total pain but I did manage to do it all just in time.

A lot of the stuff is time sensitive just like the PCR tests so that plays into your planning as well.

Let me know if you need any more info. I probably left out something.
Thank you for that. I will forward this whole post to my Daughter hoping she will leave Coco with her mom for a couple of weeks. I hope you don't mind if I edit your post a little and add that they also eat dogs in neighboring countries. LOL
Ohh and i will add some pictures of snakes. on second thought no pictures of snakes because she might not come also.
Sounds like a nightmare, getting all the paperwork , and once she gets here taking care of the dog while we travel around to show her some of the sights would be difficult.
The sooner you fall behind, the more time you have to catch up.

^ Good idea to leave the dog home. It's just not worth all the hassle for a holiday.

I've asked the wife to keep an eye out for a chunk of that whale vomit as it could recoup some of my travel expenses.

No luck so far hopefully Dee is looking to.

He does seem to be adapting to Thailand nicely.

He's been going for those crabs on the beach.

And just like the blink of an eye a week has passed today is their last day.

Tomorrow checking out early and starting the long trek to Tak.

He isn't named Chock-dee for nothing. Even though he has no interest in the pile of red bills.

They went to have dinner at a street market. Wife says it's busy with Thai tourist now. Good for them to get out and about.

Dee probably thinks this is his new home. I think he will like our house in the village better having a few rai to explore.

The hotel manager told my wife he is the first dog to stay there.

Ha definitely no award but they do charge extra

They will drive back and stop off in BKK for a night at her cousins house. An unfortunate trade off for doing the sandbox.

    Great pics Mike!

You should train your dog to sniff out the ambergris which can be sold for up to $40,000 a kilogram.
Easier and more profitable than metal detecting on the beaches.

I really was hoping they would find a nice 15-20 kg piece but no such luck just a few ratty old 100's

Thanks for the warning but there aren't to many wild dogs in the village.

I'm more concerned about wildlife in our garden like snakes, scorpions, red ants, water monitors, and all the other nasties

Nice Pictures . Thanks for sharing .
This is a good time for the dog, or for that matter for anyone to be coming to Thailand as the rains are ending and the weather will start getting a bit cooler, it should give Chock-dee a chance to slowly acclimate by the time the warm weather returns.

    A bit of an update:

After a month and a half it seems that Chock-dee has acclimated to village life just fine. Got hit by fire ants a few times but survived that ok.

He already made friends with a local dog. He came back to our house a few times but quickly runs for the gate because Dee gets a bit wild.

A few random shots from the village.

The same little bridge crossing the Ping river.

Someone already shouted out ma falang but he didn't take offence.
