    Koh Lipe trip

Wife and I took off on a 4 day trip to Koh Lipe with a day before in Hat Yai seeing my wife's friend.

One thing about this trip that was kind of funny was short of a helicopter or a rocket ship we used all other forms of transpo on the trip there and back.

I stopped by the Big Honda dealer in Hat Yai and got some info on the Limited Edition CBR1000RR. Hmmmmmmm. Anyway.....

    Pics from the trip

After a 2 hr van ride from Hat Yai to the port we hopped on a high speed boat. The boat ride was 1.5 hrs to the island.

On the boat ride to the island they stopped at a national forest area for a break. Water was incredible as was the weather

After arriving at the island we walked up a bit to catch the taxi that was waiting for us to take us to the Cliff resort

This was a cool little resort and private and secluded.

Our room view which included a nice little pool. View was quite nice.

While the wifey was unpacking I headed on down to the bar and ordered a Mojito at the Beach Bar.

We took a moto taxi ride into town to check out for some eats.

Of course an empty bar is no good, so I felt the need to patronize the place....

The next day was a walk along the private beach area of the Cliff resort in the morning. The water was just perfect. We were waiting to go snorkeling

After a long day of messing around we sat and enjoyed a relaxing sunset.

The next day was a pre drone flight beer over looking the area...

The Cliff resort, Great views, super quiet, great bartenders, private beach, clean rooms.

    Mavic Vid of the area

We had a nice dinner over looking the ocean to end the get away.

Yeh, good drone footage. Is youtube re-encoding your video or something as its a little choppy and some tearing in places.

Thanks Dil. Place was nice and the weather was perfect. As for flying the Mavic and people getting pissed IMHO it all depends on the pilot and what he/she does. I don't hover over people nor do I fly near peoples rooms. I fly as far away as possible to get best view. I always ask the manager as well. I keep flights quick and attempt to fly when people are not around as I don't want people in the vid anyway. The vid was early morning so it was empty as you can see.

YouTube limits your footage to 480p for 3 or 4 hrs after upload because while the Vid is available it's still being processed. I have found that if you wait a day or so the quality gets better. I don't pay for an acct so it's a basic service. The vid on my big TV looked great so it's clearly YouTube.

Actually it was a 5 course meal. That was the last dish. Started with soup and some deep fried shrimp, then a salad then a anti pasta type plate, the main dish (pictured) and it ended with dessert.

    It was a lot.

    Very nice.

    About the CBR1000.

Check it isn't Jap Spec. A mate bought one when Big Wing first opened 4 or 5 years ago. Ended up they there were selling the Jap restricted version. Restricted to 120HP I think. Spent a lot of time money trying to derestrict it - new harness, electrics etc, to no avail. Think they have started selling the US spec ones nowadays but not sure.

Yeh, I've noticed the same, looks fantastic on TV but then something gets lost on youtube, wasted a lot of time getting the encoding right so youtube wouldn't re-encode but still turns out the same.

I think you're right, cos on the big paid channels their HD video looks perfect.

    Thanks Lu,

On the CBR1000. I went to look as I was curious. I am a Yamaha guy through and through. If I bought any liter bike it be the R1. Just not ready to plunk down that kind of cash. R6.....Well....Maybe

I have a friend in states who works for them. I pinged him one day when I loaded a Drone vid and it looked like shit. I said WTH is with Youtube. That's when Bryan gave me the lowdown on us none acct paying clients. If I became a premium acct holder my junk would be 1080P. But I am a hobby type YouTube user so it it what it is.

I will say man when I took the Raw video from the Mavic and loaded onto my big ass TV it looked like I was flying the drone.

The dragonlady and I enjoyed a drink or three at the little bar on the side of the hill at the Cliff resort 3 years ago. Beautiful beaches on Koh live and a relaxed vibe.
