    A Keek round the 'Kok

A nice spot to sit in the evening.

    A Keek round the 'Kok-pc133235-jpg

Very strange as I was walking through the park some music came from loudspeakers and I became aware that everyone had stopped and was frozen to the spot, even in mid jogging position, as I was ambling along. It was like musical chairs and quite surreal. Anyway the music stopped and we all walked on.

Decided to keep it real and catch the bus to Khao San.

Made some new friends at the bus stop.

I can highly recommend the No.2 bus which will whisk you from your place of choice on Sukhumwit to Khao san road faster than you can say 'Krung Thep Mahanakhon ..... Witsanukam Prasit'

Yes it took fully 1 hour and 10 minutes to crawl those 9km in the eveing rush hour but it was certainly the most fun you can have for 10 baht in the big mango.

Cat was having a rare old time with this mouse until mamsan came and spoiled the fun by chucking the half-dead mouse in the rubbish.

I love the way the cheap fresh-air bus does not have any dials on the dashboard and makes a horrendous grinding noise every time the blokey changes gears.

Yes. Every day at 8.00am and 6pm.

Good idea to follow suit. Some Thais can get a wee bit touchy about it.

Or, you can start singing the Cambodian national anthem in competition. It's rather catchy.

I got back to Benjasiri just in time for national anthem musical chairs on my last night in the kingdom. That is actually the moon above the building.

    A Keek round the 'Kok-pc143380-jpg

BTS was more mobbed than the bus. Thais queue up patiently to get on the BTS even if they have to wait for the next one. While I watched not one but 2 well dressed farangs who did not look like tourists walk to the front of the queue and pretend not to know like butter would not melt. The Thais say nothing.

This did not focus but was an african fella getting worked over by the BIB. They were going in heavy and dragged him off on a bike to the monkeyhouse. No way was this fella getting away with a 500b bribe. The BIB saw me taking a photo and visibly bristled so I ducked into the nearest Family Mart.

That was the location of my farewell beerski.

The place where I first nervously bar-fined a lady from a gogo on January 1st 2004 (after carefully reading instructions on how to do this on stickman's website).

I remember she went mental in the room and threw pad thai everywhere because I did not pay for the noodles when she stopped at a cart on the way back to the loom.

I had to clean it off the wall to keep my key deposit.

A learning experience and fond memories!

I wonder where she is and if she still remembers the coont farang who did not pay for her noodles.

Anyway he has a nice cat-soul vibe. And a lovely coffee-coloured brother that sleeps in the cat-bed on the floor underneath the chair.

Is the big fat woman with the three coats of lipstick still a regular in the car park bar ? If so please tell her that Digby passed away on his birthday. He was very fond of her and was never without the sanitary towel she had kindly given to him to clean his spectacles.

The good die young. I cannot bring myself to tell of the awful circumstances which led to his demise, suffice to say that the semen used in the AI programme was thought to be contaminated with dioxin.

Pattaya was more fun than I expected.

It was strange to see BKK again after 8 years since I used to go there 2 or 3 times a year.

KL is a fun town and a cultural crossroads.

Saigon defo has to be visited again.

I am not done yet though, and still have to see if I can find that lovely Indo girl again in Bukit Bintang with her magic Johnson Oil - so it is too early to call!

Backpackers in elephant pants! Mr. Headworx will have a hissy fit.

@loopy dahlink - I reckon the goldy dress and glittery necklace will fit me nicely. So sad that you didn't buy it for me. Lol. I could've paired it with your gold heels. When are you visiting to PI? I'll take you hiking to a mountain with "knife edge" and "kiss the wall" parts so that you won't feel short-changed. Heh...

Thanks for the pics & stories!
