Sounds like a great trip. How did you manage to avoid the traffic?

hahhahaha 12 days " exreme side of cycling" , good for you, Now get out and do a real tour.......( just joking, any time on a bicycle is great) In 1982/83 i did a 16 month bicycle tour
Bangkok- Chiang Mai return bangkok by train- fly to Calcutta, up to Darjeeling, across to Nepal over to Pohkara , (20 days Annapurna circuit) down to India, up to Ladakh, down thru Rajasthan , Bombay, Kerala, Lands End, off to Sri Lanka, (cycled around for 30 days) back to India, Back to Bangkok-on thru Malaysia, Singapore, ferry to Java, across Java to Bali, fly to Sydney and back to America.

    Now thats a tour :-)

    Great stuff Baz.

Geez, you're a better man than me. I do all that, but on motorbike.

Fantastic place for it. Reckon you can put up a Google Maps image of the routes?

    Cheers.

100 kms would take me 8 hours min with stops on average, BUT in Tibet or Ladhak 100 kms would be 2-3 days
    Did lhasa-ktm twice, about 900 kms 2 passes over 15,000', 1 over 17,000--28 days
from the Tibetan Plateau down to the border was like 110 kms and took 5 hours amazing down hill run

Annapurna circuit around 220 kms (1 14,200 'pass) 12 days

wish i was in that shape now....LOL
