Your Canadian countryside pictures look similar to my Peak district pics..

I decided to Hit the latter stage of the tour today over in leafy Knutsford, follow the orange/yellow bikes and your on the tour.



At the finish line, all the barriers and everything else had been moved onto the next stage in Wales for today overnight.

The "Tour de Cheshire"cycling monument was left..


Loads of road art on the tour mostly for the benefit of the TV helicopters.



Some friendly wildlife in Tatton Park, but alas no goats.


The valley's were full of the aroma of wild garlic and also slightly tainted blue with Bluebells..



Found a fresh water spring, good job as i'd ran out.



Two hours to get through all these locks according to a captain today.





One for the buffalo board.



Putting in some serious road miles there Bazza, keep up the good work.

The Scottish Borders, en route to John O' Groats from Land's End.

Looking at doing coast to coast, from Whitehaven to Whitley Bay this year.

Sorry cant green you.some seriously great places to ride in the u.k. i usuallyride around the s.wales valleys, brecon and mid wales.

Barry, ahhhh, Audax rides .... I was thinking that when ya mentioned the 325 and the 200s. Got into it for awhile in Canada as we got free airfare if we qualified for the Paris Breast Paris. I did a few 200s and then a 300and then I said you guys are insane. Continued touring but gave up on the free trip to Paris.

Nine years ago did Europe from Portugal to Istanbul, then flew over the weird countries and continued here. Did Bkk to Luang Prabaung and back and was planning on going south Malaysia, Singapore, blah blah, Australia, but ended up just circling Isaan a few times and then decided to stay here. Which is my weird story about how I ended up here. Continued touring here on school holidays, unfortunately I then discovered motorcycle touring and well the bicycle is dusty now.

Did all my touring on a Ritchey Ascent Pro comp, totally thrilled with the bicycle even after 29 years....

The paris breste paris.., the holy grail of long distance timed touring!!!!!

Hoping to do this ride on friday
Will stay the night and cycle back the next day. A rest day today,the missus will visit tomorrow as we dont live together any more and will set off about 4.00 am

This is a great way to spend ya time Bazza, keeping fit, touring beautiful North Thailand at this time of the year and enjoying ya self. Meeting some great Thai people along the way as well.

When I'm touring in my Pikey Van I hit the road maybe 8.30 9.00 AM and camp up around 3.30 4.00 PM. I do maybe 250 KLM 300 Max.

How many hours ya fookin riding.

Ya must be totally fooked at the end of the day eh.

Will leave cnx at 4.00 am and i hope to get there in under 13 hours so i can try and get it validated my audax u.k/long distance cycling.

13 hours!!! That's some hardcore cycling, any tips for us amatuers?
I've hit the wall after a few hours.

All done and dusted and done it in less than 9 hours.
A cracking day apart from the head wind
Will upload pics when i get back to cnx. Maybe ride back tomorrow will see how my legs are.

I did an organised charity cycle ride from Saigon to Siem Reap about 10 years ago. Really enjoyed it despite not enough training. Mainly flat but long and dusty roads through the villages.
Cycled about 70kms a day. In Cambodia we entered a village and sat outside a shop/shed was a grandmother crying with laughter, we eventually discovered that the source of her amusement was me.
She could not believe that anyone who could afford to be as fat as me would be stupid enough to ride a bicycle....
