I was coughing so much my airways got tight and I struggled to breath like how asthma people get.

That's when "shit got real" I phoned my insurance and they told me what hospital to go to then taxi

^ I'm in the north west of Ireland currently, and there's a cold/flu epidemic going about. It seems that these things are far more impervious to treatment nowadays. Mine has lasted for over a week now, and it still hasn't cleared fully.
Back to the UK thread, you've made a place that gets a lot of flack for being a shit hole, seem tolerable. Thanks for your efforts. I shall attempt to green your good self SP .

You really should try Royal Cliff Beach Hotel, Its about the same price as Siam@Siam too. It's a lot closer to the ferry, got your own beach, 3 pools, an Eatigo seaview restaurant(Breezeo) and 6 tennis courts

Cozy Beach is North in the next photo

15 years ago that was a great hotel sadly that does not apply now. Those are the steps down from the hotel to the beach right?

The Royal Varuna Yacht Club is just around the corner at the top. With 4 to 6 year olds it was great.

Those are the steps down from the Sky Gallery AO., not the hotel. was there a hotel there before?

Anyway this is next door to that Sky Gallery and worth a visit I reckon, just to see if they'd do a willy mould for the wife's birthday

Proper doorstep sandwich, crusty bread. The don't do that at S&P or Au Bon Pain.

I was going through some of my island pics earlier, and I'll take back my comment about trying an island where electricity is rationed. It'll drive you fucking mad after a few days. Maybe one night could be a 'nature' experience, but I remember warm beer, no aircon or fans and no wifi between 6am and 6pm.
I left a day earlier, couldn't escape fast enough, didn't even bother negotiating a refund for the night I didn't stay.

Ant wasn't up for it, so Dilly has vowed to start a 15 year vendetta chasing him around forums under different names and writing a book about him.

I stayed at the Royal Cliff on my first trip to Thailand back in 2005. It seemed very posh after staying at the old Mandarin hotel in Bkk for $50 a night. I remember waking up at 3am thinking it was the next evening the jet lag was killer.
    Nice pics too.

That Royal Cliff seems to be nearly 100 quid on the weekends..

I paid about 50 quid for Siam@Siam. For this particular hotel you should book direct.. Agoda is a bit more pricier.
They have a useful tool to check for cheap days as well

BLD, just had a quick look at your Pattaya not just for mongers thread a few years back where you flew from Udon to Don Mueang then got a taxi for 1800 baht that probably took you 2 and half hours...

UTP is fully functional now mate and is the nutz. After getting off the plane if you are near the front you are out the airport in 5 mintes from stepping off the plane. You can even fly KL from there and that Sanya place you went

Just checked on Air Asia and theres a flight a day from Udon, leaves at 7.20 arrives 8.30, prices start around 590 baht each way.
