    Racha Island pics

Few pics from our trip to Racha Island.

Wife and I stayed at a beauty exclusive resort. Each room had a private swimming pool and a view of the ocean.

We started the the get away with the appropriate beverages in the private pool.

We watched a very nice sunset after a nice swim.

Pool view from our Private pool in the room

Next day was a walk to a private beach and we took a Kayak out and paddled around the lagoon

The resort has a lot of very nice cascading pools with stellar views

I chartered a boat for the day and we spent the day snorkeling (actually wife did, I did some free diving with my Go Pro and took some vids underwater). I also flew my drone off the boat and got some great aerial videos. We sat and had lunch on the beach.

After an outstanding day free diving and swimming we left back to the resort for some drinks and dinner.

I really need to leave the house more often.

Very nice, almost Daffodillian, if you will.

Racha Yai is about a 20 minute boat ride from southern Phuket. There are a couple of good resorts and sheltered bays on the east of the island. It's highly popular with Chinese tour boats.

Racha Noi is a further couple of miles south, and uninhabited. Popular for diving.

We stayed 2 nights at Sri Panwa resort. Cost there was about 7200 bht. The first group of photos are at Sri Panwa. It is a very nice top flight resort. Clients are loaded. Nice mix of folks but as PAG noted clearly lots of Chinese. Racha Island was less expensive there are 2 coves. We stayed away from the loaded with tourist one. We stayed off the beaten path. Amazingly as you see in the pic the beach area was empty and super clean. Next cove over was 180 opposite. Congested, loud and dirty.

The charter boat was 9500 baht for the day and it was just my wife and I . It is money well spent. As my wife and I chilled on the boat we watched 5 or 6 boats come in with 20 to 30 people on them. F that. They all just stared at us. The boat owner said he could make a lot more money doing the big group but said he didnt like all the people. They smoke, spit, throw up, and drop food. Plus its a lot of paperwork with release of liability stuff and he hss to watch all the people. We all had a good day.

I thought the first photos didn't look like Racha. Yes, Sri Panwa is a class place with a decent restaurant and great views. It's a favourite amongst Hi-So Thais.

Yeah I should have clarified that a bit better. Havent posted pics in a long time.

Sri Panwa was quite posh and the grounds are kept well. The service outstanding and rooms extremely nice. The restaurants and the food good but quite pricey. We only ate in one and that was the top place with the 360 view. The breakfast buffet was excellent. The resort itself is removed from town so its a place where you just hang and relax. Saw a few Honeymooners and to your point lots of HiSo Thais.

Our price was a deal through a friend of my wifes. Room costs range from 12000 to 25000 baht a night being they have 1, 2 and 3 room deals with larger swimming pools. Be fun with 3 couples.

If you're staying at a resort, they will arrange pick up, usually from Chalong Pier. For a day trip, there are many speedboats that leave from Rawai beach (the Chinese tour favourite).

Yes it is out away from everything. I saw the aquarium but never went in. My wife and I are private types. We hate big tourist areas with loads of foreigners. We have our few Thai only type places we visit to get away which are very very nice.
