    Thailand flights:- Hot Deals

We have a special thread for special Travel Deals within Thailand (Thailand Travel Deals), but nothing on flights into Thailand?

So, here is a place to post those deals, after, of course, you have booked yourself.

I'll post the first deal I've seen in post #2.

Just share the deals and special offerings you receive or 'get wind of' as they come across your desk/screen/pool table ... where ever.

    .

Philippine Airlines have $550 SYD-BKK return, with similar fares for other Oz cities. Don't know if these are on special or they just sell some really cheap seats on each flight - they're in the 'budget economy' category when choosing flights.
    https://www.philippineairlines.com/en

I looked at dates in February and March 2018, which is one of Oz's two airfare low seasons (the other is October).

I didn't book this, but I'd happily fly PAL - hell, I'm an Air Asia / Cebu Pacific / Scoot veteran, any airline where food is served and entertainment provided is in the 'luxury' category. Tried to convince my daughter to book, but she would rather pay $220 more and fly direct with Thai or Emirates with their current specials. Meh.

    So many possibilities.

I wanted to fly to Miami back when Qantas had a virtual monopoly trans-Pacific (and sky high prices), Fiji Airlines was the cheapest option I found. I know they fly into Asia, but not to Thailand as far as I know.

I had Merican friends that used to get themselves to Hawaii as cheaply as possibly then pick up USA domestic flights from there. I think AirAsia and/or Scoot fly to Hawaii nowadays - via Japan perhaps.

Norwegian fly to Bangkok and fly to the US I believe. You could maybe get there cheaply via Oslo.

The Chinese airlines usually have crazy low prices.

LATAM is code sharing with Qantas out of Sydney now / just announced. But I'd expect going the other way around the globe with Emirates or Qatar would be cheaper.

Oh cheap flights to Thailand, how I miss you already! Flying anywhere from UB is an expensive prospect- return flights to Thailand start at around 600GBP- it's good job my monthly expenses here amount to around 300USD- all I have to do is buy breakfast and dinner. Booked to go to Thailand In January for the winter break.

Most if not all these alleged cheap flights are nothing more than advertising gimmicks.

Was thinking of popping back to OZ this month, did all the cheap airline searches, no seats available, so up to the next, normal cheap carrier prices, think jet star was $760 Oz, return Melb. to BKK.

Remember you pay for everything on the plane, food, drink, even a blanket.
Airline and airport staff get first pick, before the ad goes out, so seats have gone before the advertisement go out.

My 2 sisters are visiting me next week, they hunted high and low for cheap tickets, ends up cheapest flights Melbourne to Ubon, was Thai and Thai smile to Ubon $940 return.

Same last year when we went back, saw a travel agent in Ubon, worked out all in, Ubon to Melbourne. $200 cheaper to fly Qantas then jetstar.

^^ I looked at that yesterday, and the 239 fare is legit for Bangkok to Brisbane without any extras ie no food, checked baggage or seat selection.

The return leg is more expensive.
