It's quite Mad how the Monks banged out this structure. Hope the wood is treated for White ants. Tough shit if it falls off the side of the mountain.

So they have carved out part of the mountain and constructed the walk around. Not an easy task I suggest.

We have now ascended to level 5, this is the staging point for all the construction that has occurred up here and is ongoing.

Much of the stuff is bought up in this small pulley.Have no idea how the larger pieces are bought up ? Most probably an Army of Burmese laborers lug up those stairs.

Story goes that the Boss Monk was killed in a plane crash whilst flying to Bangkok for an audience with Elvis.

    I suppose this is him.

Really nice on level six, the trees take over. A lot of work done on this level, brick paved walk ways do the job.

Level 6 gives way to level 7, from level 6 it's a goat track up to level 7. No stairs, just climb.

We are on the very top of this mountain, if one falls down the side here you may stop falling by the time you hit Bangkok.

We are at the very top and edge of the mountain, in the for ground you can see the Wat surrounded by the moat. This where we started and the Motor is parked.

I did not climb all the way up here to stop there so I dragged the Handbag all over the Top. She was getting a tad shagged by now but still no tears.

Arrived at the other side, there is a Mini me Wat build on the opposing mountain and a dog having a kip in the sun. The dog is perched right on the edge, it's straight down from there.

That was Phu Thok done and dusted, it was back down the goat track onto level 6 and the long climb back down the stairs.

A big day out but bloody brilliant.
