There was an area full of these really old Buddha's some looked very old.

This big one looked happy maybe to happy

There were some really healthy looking chickens around not the usual skinny black one I see around.

    nice roster.

    And his girl.

This big old walls extended out quite a ways.

A view from a distance you can see the size of the place. It was nice and quiet when we were there a few westerners and some Thais. I saw a couple farang monks there too. In some meditation area.

Well - see if this bump'll work - editing, cataloging and loading pictures are a royal PIA

Past year aged friend of the extended family passed - my family loves owning the token falang well versed in thai and buddha rites - they love to "show off" so I oft get invites. Anyway, some pix fram a cremation ceremony out in the rice farms of Suphan.

Sometimes. I've been to several cremations. Viewing immediately prior to the actual cremation seems to be the way. Up to the individual if they want to "look" - many don't. Wife says that viewing is always the case. Sometimes only the immediate family. Really though, one size doesn't fit all and the family decides if and how the sending off is done.

Know for a fact that a Thai cremation I attended in the USA did not have a viewing prior to the cremation.

What I do remember, though, is the monks smoking and laughing . . .
