    Random pictures around Bangkok...

I'm getting close to my annual trip back to Thailand and thought i post some random pictures from last year to get the juices flowing again.

Most of these were taken in Chinatown. I love to walk around there so much to see.

I always like to see these scooters loaded going through the city.

We passed this old building near Chinatown looked like something from Angkor Wat.

How about a special phone booth for Chinatown.

This guy must have been sleeping off breakfast.

These old shops are so cool. The smell in there is unmistakable. must be all the Rhino horn and tiger penis.

This old guy was making the smallest desserts I have ever seen. Definitely not for Americans.

loading up the old scooter for another run.

These old buildings were on a small road next to the river. So cool must have been something else 40-50 years ago.

How many sacks to buy that Benz?

My wife wanted to have lunch on the roof of the State Tower building from hangover 2. I told her it was all movie magic anyway here's what the inside looked like. The inside was all empty.

These last to were from the skytrain walkway in Siam square during the protest last year. Looked more like a big market to me. although we just missed someone throwing a grenade into the crowd not far from where we were. That was a wake up call.

These were taken from the bus window on the way back to Pattaya. I have seen this place for years does anyone know the story. It looks finished but its been sitting empty for years.

Its hard to imagine the amount of lost capital sitting around in Thailand. The number of half finished and nearly finished projects is amazing.

    but great thread.
Ya we went at lunch time and they said to come back at dinner. I just thought it was funny that the inside of the place looks abandoned. I was also amused at the big sign stating the dress code, they must get all kinds coming in there now.
We did have lunch at a nice little place on the corner just opposite.

I first seen that building on Bangpakong river in 2002 & it was empty then.
There a fight between the bankrupt owner & the bank trying to recover money. Great Thread Mike

Here are a few from Pattaya on new years eve. It was insanity big rockets going off into the crowd, floating lanterns landing in the crowd and in the trees. I'm giving it a miss this year.

The amount off lanterns was cool if they made it out of the crowd.

Jumping around a bit this was in Chiang Mai.

I took a picture of this guy then he started saying something i didn't understand so I walked away. He followed us down the road he wouldn't go away until I gave him a hug. A bit odd but I see his sign says free hugs.

I wonder what goes on in this place. No windows.

^ Raming Lodge is a nice little hotel and they provide free parking in a lot behind this building.

Brilliant concept I look at that every time I go by. Each house has its own boat mooring!
