One trip may consist of multiple flights. For example, at the moment I'm on business in South Korea.

    My flights for this trip;

    Ubon - Bangkok
Bangkok - Singapore (day in the office)
    Singapore - Incheon
    Incheon - Busan

    Busan - Incheon
    Incheon - Singapore
    Singapore - Bangkok
    Bangkok - Ubon

    Eight flights in one trip.

    Last month;

    Ubon - Bangkok
    Bangkok - Singapore
    Singapore - Perth
    Perth - Learmonth

    Chopper to offshore installation

Chopper from offshore intallation to Truscott

    Truscott - Darwin
    Darwin - Singapore
    Singapore - Bangkok
    Bangkok - Ubon

^Pearl Air flight out of Truscott. Got off the chopper on the right, and straight on to the plane on the left. Pilot wearing shorts and t-shirt.

Ive used Thai frequently in the last 8 years. Eva used to be the best deal when they flew 747s to London. Their first class was quite decent at 1700 quid rt plus the mileage meant savings on that when doing 4-5 trips a year. Then they seapped to 777 with elite seats that were really uncomfortable if youre more than 5'11 tall

Ended up with a tg platinum card so now just book economy on TG. I still get the F lounge at Bkk and even with 95kg of luggage was waved through last year with no excess. At swampy it gives premium immigration lane too. They normally bring me the biz class meal and give exit row plus block off adjacent seats if not full load. Saves a bloody fortune!

Cant see the logic of it all. I imagine they invented the platinum card for thai vips to freeload.

In my mind Thai airways is the best. The big Thing is the nonstop flight, you save really much time.

I'm doing that Bkk-Muscat on Oman in a couple of weeks. So far their performance has been shit, they've changed both of my flights to a different day, the tossers.

Done it twice, both times were fine. Plane, crew, food, seats, all fine, not spectacular. Thai Air are better, but they don't fly that route - I'd say Oman Air one of the better mid cost airlines; better than the useless lot out of Abu Dhabi (Ethidad...). You stopping in Muscat, 'Arry? Got time for a beer?

Been a long time since I have seen a competitive price from Thai
I think that may be because of our stupid government. The tax on long-haul flights is horrendous. Quite often when I look at the price of a flight it is quite reasonable until the tax in particular and the surcharges are added in although maybe you have already noticed this?

you are lucky they are on the same day

flying out of London is expensive now because of the taxes; those are based on the distance of your first leg, so if you fly direct to Bkk they are very high.

never mind, the choice is between BA, Thai and Eva; Eva used to be the cheapest with Thai second. BA has now slashed it's fares so they are the cheapest, whilst Eva has raised theirs above Thai

I have no loyalty to any of them, they are all just boring flights, more or less equal, although BA scores on the G&T front using those little bottles and cans so you don't have to depend on the steward to get it right from the big bottles

I usually manage to sleep, but the BA screens on the seat backs are miniscule if you wanted to watch a movie or three
    I have reported your post

Naaah, both times are reasonably short layovers at stupid o'clock. Another downside of this airline.

Not only am I up the front, Andy, I'm flying from the sandpit, not London, so it's not so bad.

Can't say I was overly impressed with Muscat airport, seems the same as when I was last there 20 years ago, are they building a new one any time soon?

The food looked like dog turds and they only had Smirnoff.

Thai Airs pricing is just very Thai. I am flying BKK - Lon - HKG - (up to BJ and SH on separate flights) BKK next week, and went with BA at 119k (bus class) with Cathay doing the short hop all in. I wanted to go Thai, and quite prepared to do BKK - Lon - BKK - HKG - BKK but the price was consistently 50% above BA. They hold back seats too much hoping to jack up the price which I think is why you can jump on their website and find last minute flights for two fistfulls of F@$@ all, especially to Australia.
