    Bkk-Kanchanaburi On A Scooter.

I have been quite bored for a while so yesterday morning I decided to go to Kanchanaburi, on my scooter.....

I love the place and go about 4 times a year.

I have been in my car, on a bus, in a taxi and a minivan....I wondered what it would be like go on a scooter, so away I went.

I live not far from Swampy, so I rode towards Sukhumvit and then on to Khao San first.

Stopped at a 7/11 for smokes and water.

After the stop it was onward. Over the bridge to Pin Klao.

Following the signs to Nakom Pathom. I needed to stop again for a pee-pee.

This is me, looking like a fat-twat, trying to look cool!

Here's the view from the toilet stop at the side of the road.

    Sorry Buddha!

Passing through Nakom Pathom, I stopped for this photo.

    Then I continued to Kanchanaburi.

This is why I love this place...Beautiful!

Overall it took me about 3 1/2 hours. My ass was killing me!

    Here's me at a friend's bar-beer.

Then one shot at night.....There were more but they were deleted....lol

This morning I decided to leave at 6.30am....It was fucking freezing!

After Nakhom Pathom I missed the turning for Phra Pin Klao, like a dick head...I ended up in Ban Khae. Lost!

I have never-ever been there before and rode around lost for nearly 2 hours...My total journey time coming home, 5 hours.

The only saving grace was this Maccy D's I found. Where it was, who knows?

It's a bit shit but when you're hungry and pissed off, nothing's better than a sausage and egg Mcmuffin and coffee.

I had a great time in Kanchanaburi as usual but would I go on a bike again?

    Never!

I hear the train journey's quite scenic....

What about the roads, traffic, not a problem just being on a scooter?

There's quite a few large trucks carrying heavy loads and the road out of Bangkok is also bumpy in places. If you're a beginner on bikes, I wouldn't suggest it.

The Nouvo is quite good. It will accelerate quite quickly and you need it.

Great pics. I have often wondered If I should do day trips to near by cities or maybe one long trip doing a city every day or so (Solo on my Nouvo). Looking at your shots has not answered my question, but was entertaining. Thanks

I used to do cha am to hua hin, which was only around 30 kms and it was a nice stretch of road,

Is it dangerous ? fukkin too right it is. Every fucker uses the hard shoulder to drive the opposite way towards oncoming traffic, rather than take u turns. MInibuses, lorries and the coaches fly past you at great speed and most wont move into the next lane to overtake you. Then all of a sudden you will encounter those pick ups with the loudspeakers blasting out election messages and plodding along in the slow lane at 50kmh
On top of all that, You are always looking for potholes in the road or oil slicks.
    Then theres the fukkin flies.

Fuk that, get the minibus :-)

And never the train? Saving the best 'til last then. I like Kanchan- reckon I'd be up there a few times a year too if I lived in the big mango.

It's moved a couple of streets further in-land and mainly considered a bikers bar now.

Plenty of new places to enjoy and your always welcome mate.
