Happy Birthday, Sonny. Great shots, especially that one you plan to frame. Twins are growing up - I remember when they were your AV. My twins are 13 today - welcome to the world of teenagers!

I just love to see a happy family sharing a lovely experience together.
Your a lucky man and your 3 girls are just as fortunate having you taking care.
Thanks for sharing mate.
Great thread AO and thanks for sharing. PS Congratulations young man.
Happy bloody birthday AO.
You are a blessed guy to have such a wonderful family.
All the best to you.
Thanks you guys. Now I have to figure out how to get Phitsonaluk and Chiang Mai city, and the drive up Soi Suthep out of an I Pad and into here. Going to get a kid to help right now.
Thank you for a great picture thread. Congratulations on your birthday and you have a lovely family.
great shots.
I finally got the pictures out of the I Pad. Phitsanulok.
wat yai
This one is over 800 years old and part of the chedi was damaged during at earthquake 500 years ago Wat Phra Sri Mahatat.
The golden buddah inside.
Then it was off through the mountains to Chaing Mai.
I hate this thread.
It's horrible and depressing.
I've just found out I'm older than someone called Aging One
You will always be older than someone and younger some others.Originally Posted by Thetyim
Well the first day in Chaing Mai I was in for a huge shock. The women expected a total tour plan for the next 4 days. So after a coffee I came up with the Zoo, as I have only heard good things, and the kids wanted to see the Pandas. Then up the best road in Thailand as it was made and is maintained to Royal standards up to Doi Suthep.
Just a few shots of the zoo, getting in as a Thai made it cheap, but if I had waited just two days I would have been a "senior citizen" and all other attraction entry fees are waived.
The Panda's, no people and they were moving about.
August 6th the day we were there was his birthday. Not any people so you could just enjoy, its a huge enclose, and they should be happy.
His brother next door, in addition to the eucalyptus leaves they get wood, I mean 1 inch thick and a foot long piece of wood.
Watching them check it, smell it and discard 3 of 5 was fascinating.
What is the white stuff on right. Looks like snow.
It is!!! Mounds of crushed iced for them to roll about in. Its all inside, the viewing area was about 20 C, but they say its like 10C inside and they have the snow. They sure as hell seemed happy to me. But a guide did admit that trying to keep them healthy they get fat. But they have doctors like at Bumgrumrat, let me tell you.
Brought back some memories from March this year for us ,, we was in that temple in Phisanalok and although not allowed I took some pics to
Good market around there to , really enjoyed it ,happy days
Almost forgot the fish and the huge aquarium. Was also world class standard.
Rays and a huge albino catfish.
A big one getting hand fed. Cool when the blood comes out.
Sorry about the clarity on this one, we were lucky enough to be there at feeding time.
The zoo and aquarium are both located just above Chaing Mai university just at the foothills of Doi Suthep. Its huge and the animals are in enclosures like Khao Kheo open zoo. But its actually better as you cant drive a car in. The have people trains to take you to all the sights and you can get on and off as you like. Then they have a monorail that literally is as high as the oldest trees. Well worth the visit.
Now its time to head up into the cool air.
Excellent thread AO, thanks for posting and what a great way to spend your 60th. Looks like the whole family had a great time.
Your birthday is the 8th?.. (I turned 41 on the 5th)
Can't send a green yet as it seems I green you too much.
I also took off that same weekend down to Koh Chang - you have inspired me to do a thread.
And I greened you on it. Well done rawlins, you have a few nice traveller threads. Usually a bit more upscale than I. Glad you enjoyed it. Just have to finish with the joke gifts. But I have to edit a whole bunch of photos. Cheers. Glad you had good weather on Chang. Pickel is your guy for that.
Great report on the zoo and aquarium. I had no idea that was there. Thanks for these. Any more pics to come?
Well, I found my user name and your thread young man. Looking good.
I'm going to start growing Habaneros again.
Great thread AO. Cheers to the family.
nice continuation of your thread AO and enjoying all the photos. That road leading up to the top of Doi Sauthep is great on a cycle. Hope you had a good view when reaching the top.
It was cloudy, but I will get a few photos up or at least try to this evening, actually it was quite clear.
