If we are talking about the bus station at the end of Soi Uglygirliebar , then the word station is overblown. More like bus stop with a few seats. In fact the only buses I saw pull in there were the micro buses passing to and from Bangkok and further south.

    This is it :

    No Betty. Disappointing isn't it.

As far as I remember, if you are coming by bus from Bangkok you get dropped at the crossroads on the main highway then make your own way to the beach by motorcycle taxi.

I wanna back pop to Cha-am next time I'm home; less than 2 hours from BangMot. Nice for 2 days during the week...

It's amazing...Most government buses drop you off on the main road but, the government bus with the Cha-am sign drops you off at the bus station!

I lived in Cha Am for 1 year+. Great little town. Love the spit fired pork on the main street heading to the beach. They had concerts at the beach area, beach service was great.

If you are looking for a very nice private place to stay it is a resort called Cher ( Cher Resort). While pricey to some it is a very nice place with a super nice ambiance. If you look on Agoda or Asago you can find big discounts. I personally liked it there. The pool is awesome. The benches over the ocean are very nice. Bring your own beverages of choice and it can be a very nice night.

just got back from a restaurant i think was good enough to mention on this thread

Di Dine is in the bus station soi just up from the beach, the owner is a swiss chef and it has the most amazing European menu (thai food available also but is cooked by a Thai guy) i have seen in Thailand, a little expensive but worth every penny
what a top break, stay at Niradorn 3 and walk to Didine, Cha-am's 2 best finds

oh yeah the Wed night market was fantastic, a must do!!!! if not just to watch the old guys clamber for the good seats, hilarious

We spent close to a fortnight in Hua Hin and Cha Am last month and were very, very lucky with the weather as it rained only twice in the afternoon . . . lucky indeed.

The hotel we stayed at in Hua Hin for three days was . . . well, let's just say it is of the same quality as the town itself - nothing to write home about as it were.

    Cha Am then.

Stayed at the Methavalai Resort ( The Cha-Am Methavalai Hotel, Cha-am Hotels ) and luckily my sister-in-law had the current GM work for her when she was Asst GM at the Shang . . . nice double upgrades . . . added to which my father-in-law stays there three months every year.

Breakfast is very good, a wide variety and fresh.

The resort is just across the road from the beach . . . not worth spending time there -- too many dogs.
The Resort's two pools are quite nice but there isn't much to do aside from that - so we had two cars to drive around in . . . again, not much to do nor see in the area.

Had a much better time in Krabi a few months prior - far more to do and see.

View of the pool from our balcony

Our youngest one making a 'Mouse-cave' after swimming.

. . . quite an amazing view of the sun breaking through the clouds
