    Hat Nang Rum Beach/Sattahip

Hat Nang Rum Beach, or dancing women beach which it roughly translates to I think, has no dancing women, well I didn't see any of them dancing, nor might I add did I see any chrome or stainless poles for them to dance against.

To get there from Pattaya head towards Satahip then onto Kilo Sip which just happens to be 10 kilometers past Sattahip, just before you get to Sattahips port take a left and follow that road.

Now this place is nice, although as it was a Sunday it was packed out, I really don't think I have seen so many Thais on a beach at the same time, I think if you went on a weekday you would be on your own, they got a couple of speedboats with the old inflatable thing and thats it, nobody bothers you every few minutes trying to sell you some useless junk, the water is nice and clean and the sand nice and fine.

There are a couple of places to eat there and on the other side of the road are a few places selling seaside related junk, inner tubes and that sort of thing.

We went to the big restaurant as you first get to the beach, I had beef with garlic and rice, which had fat and gristle in it my son had guess what? hmmm, Tom Yum Krung yet again, my galfriend had some oily squid dish, with a large bottle of heiniken and 2 soft drinks the whole lot came to 225baht, quite a bargain really, although a knife would have been nice to cut the gristle and fat off of my beef.

I liked that report alot. Seeing the Thai's out having a great time without the drunks and assholes is nice to see. Its gotta be damn close to military land isnt it.

Oh yeah dont eat beef at the beach. I learned that years ago. The locals as you know eat seafood 3 to 5 meals a day as long as they are there. After day one, if I see Kau Tom for breakfast with squid tentacles in it and no other choice, we do have a problem.

They eat normal with one meal Khon Toke if they go to Chaing Mai, but take a Thai to the beach for the weekend its seafood.

It is completely surrounded by military land, about the last 5kms getting there both sides of the road are walled off and owned by the military, actually the menu suprised me, normally it would only be seafood from a restaurant on the beach, but as most of their meals were 35baht and upwards it mainly consisted of pork chicken and beef.

As I said I would have tried the beef or asked them to cook a steak. I am glad you had a good time. How many beaches can a Thai go to these days? Seems like a silly question but its not.
