    Pattaya Park Beach - Jomtien

This Beach is outside the pattaya Park Hotel, the good things about the hotel is the water park and slides, the bad things are the 2 revolving restaurants on the 52nd and 53rd floor, the Panorama and the Pinnacle Revolving Restaurants, both these practice double pricing, the food is supposed to be bland at best, but the view should be pretty impressive, it also has 730 rooms of which a lot of them are occupied by blond Russian birds.

If you aint staying at Pattaya park Hotel then you can either hit Jomtien and walk north past the gay beach (Dong Tan) to get there, or cross some fields from the other side of the beach to get there from the south, but most people don't bother, it really aint a popular beach, the main things it has going for it are that there are only a couple of touts selling steamed Prawns and Crabs, and quite a lot of blond haired tottie from Russia, they got a shack that sells Thai food and beer, try to get the Thai prices although there really aint much differance in prices and it aint worth dieing for.

The next beach along to the right of Pattaya Park facing the sea is quite a nice beach, larger with less people on it, more on that here (Pattaya Beach, Pratumnak Road Soi 5 and 6), to the left is Dong Tan Beach which is the gay beach.

It don't look to bad after dark though, although it is probably worth a visit to try your luck with some of the Russian birds.

    Pattaya Water Park

Pattaya Park and the cable cars, would you do it?

First off I will admit these are not my photos, yes my sister is a braver person than I and went on the cable car from the top of Pattaya Park Tower all the way down to the bottom, now I am pretty sure these are Thai maintained, much like their lifts/elavators, it was only a year or 2 ago that one had its cables break and it crash landed at the bottom, but that is life, and if it is your time it's your time, well, if your a Buddhist that is, I prefer just not to chance it.

The view from the top I believe, not that high is it. 170meters I believe.

Looking down into Pattaya Park and one of the swimming areas, or relaxing areas I suppose, depends how you look at it.

You can also see some of the monorail track in this photo and Pattaya Park Beach.

Nearly half way there, still would die from this height if it all collapsed

So would you get into this little multi person cable car cage? Looks quite, erm, sturdy to me.

Or have you got great big balls of steel and want to come down from the top of Pattaya Park Tower this way? And then spend the evening sticking cocktail sticks into your eyeballs to prove how hard you really are, naa, neither appeal to me.

    From Pattaya Parks website.

I wouldn't fancy walking underneath these people who have just been sat stuffing their faces in a revolving restaurant

The water at the base of that huge water slide is about 3 foot deep. Perfect for smashing tour feet to pieces.

There was another thread here a couple of years ago about a British kid getting sucked into the pool pump system. The local press were too busy filming the bits that were being fished out of the mechanism to give a stuff about the boy's father who was stood there watching.

A real family day out in Pattaya.

I haven't read about any elevator failures in Pattaya for a while.
A year or so ago, they were killing off tourists every few weeks.

Or is it just that they've become so frequent that its no longer news worthy?

Used the waterpark in 2005. Hygeine was questionable.

Went to the top with intention of using the wire thing in 2002.

Looked at the mechanism and thought ''fuck that'' and joined an indian lady in the lift back down, she'd had the same thoughts. Christ knows what state it's in now.

    Bought a t-shirt which I wore until 2010
