Naithorn Beach, Phuket

I love this beach, especially during the rainy season when you can get nice waves. I also love the cassuarina trees here.

After there has been a bit of a wind blowing from the SouthWest and it is a bit calmer - don't go swimming there !

loads of jellyfish for a couple of days !!!!

Otherwise its good and the only one I go to (and i'm not really a "beach person "

If you are into fishing its a different story !

Cast a small squid head beyond the breaking waves when it is a bit rough - like in the pics- on a rising tide - and you can get a load of pomfret up to 1.5 kg !

Need a beachcasting rod and be able to chuck the bait about 150 yards .

It just hit me this mornig -I got the name of the beach wrong, it's Naithorn, not Nai Harn. I always get the two names mixed up.

Nai Harn is in the southern region and Naithorn is in the notrhtern part, north of Bang Tao.

Thanks for the replies, guys. You don't have to worry about me swimming in Phuket for a while now.

I'll post pics of the beach here in Dubai soon too.

me thinks the farther north one goes (on the southern Thai peninsula) the better the waves .. swells in the Indian Ocean are blocked by Sumatra.
