Everyone remember, that this is a fishing community and their dogs.
If you would like to discuss this further there is always a cold beer in the TD Lounge.
Great pics NR
I've noticed that you get particularly large anounts of soi dogs in fishing communities in Thailand. I guess the dogs devour a lot of the stuff that the fishermen can't use, so some symbiosis there.
Nice photo thread NR Perhaps Smegs could develope a stinking-rotten low-life Thai photo thread - since he always enjoys mingling with his people.
So how do Thais in other regions justify killing dogs for food? Or any other animal for that matter? I mean, killing is killing right?Originally Posted by November Rain
I have no idea. I have heard that slaughterhouses have to be specially blessed by monks, so perhaps there's some sort of 'special dispensation' for killing animals for food. I don't know nearly enough about Thai culture to understand.
What puzzles me is the euthanasia is murder, but poisoning 'nuisance' dogs is perfectly OK dichotomy.

Nice pics, cheers.
You will normally find that the people working in abbatoirs are muslims.
Nice pics of dogs. Glad to note the place has been demolished and cleared up. Those rubbish tend to wash on my beach in front of the condo. Glad the security guards make the effort to clean up in the mornings.

I take my hat off NR ... lovely thread
I think the poisoning issue is the lack of desire for any sort of confrontation. The 'losing face' thing...Originally Posted by phuketbound

Head Rock Dogs
Nice pics well done
We had a beach villa along the beach near palace for a couple of years and the damn dogs used to come up the steps at low tide and root around the garden.
A friend gave us this tip, get some tiger crap and spread around flower beds, you only need a bit.
A friend got us some from a zoo and it worked a treat, no more dogs.
